Weekend Fun

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend, I thought I would do a quick share before I put my feet up for the evening.  I have spent the past few days looking for clothes for my sons formal and I can happily report I have succeeded...
I even saved, didn't think that was going to be possible.

I combined a challenges with my Paper Temptress Design Team work this week.  I stumbled on this site called ScrapFriends a little while ago but hadn't had the chance to play along.   I popped in a few days ago and spotted this sketch and couldn't possibly pass up the opportunity of giving it ago.

If you don't like Sketches check them out anyway, I love the fresh feel to the site and they also have a colour challenge and some cool tutorials.

MY TAKE

I coloured some textured paste and used it through the centre here I have then stamped with several different stamps and have then used some Websters and Prima papers.

After cutting some of the pattern from the pink Le Romantique Hambly transparency I  made a frame for the photo.  I also stamped and cutout the butterfly's using the scraps, along with die cutting the number 18.

Some close ups shows how I have compiled die cuts, stamps, flowers and chipboard, the chipboard here has been given a  puffy texture that I inked after with some black ink.

In this close up you can see how I have a white bag popped behind my photo for hidden journalling.  I also stamped "Every Day" on the negative left after you've removed your stickers.  Normally this would be thrown in the bin, instead I sanded it back a little, stamped the words and hey presto I have a sticker, I love how at the bottom of the words I got this cool pattern left behind from the outline of the sticker that was removed.  [Well I hope that made sense it did in my head] lol.

Products Used:  Memory Box "Tiny Tendril" die cuts, Hambly Transparency & Stickers, Prima Rondelle "Etude" & Blooms, Websters "Every Day Poetry" Messages to You , WOW glitter, textured paste, Mixed media ink, Stazon black, Luminarte powders, Dusty Attic mini swirls.

Stamps used:  Fancy Pants "The Good Life", Websters Itty Bitty Bubbly, Bo Bunny "Ambrosia" and other stamps.

I have linked a few of the products I have used to create this page, I hope you have enjoyed looking and would like to THANK those that take the time to leave me their wonderful comments.

Wishing you are great weekend....

Layers Upon Layers & Black With Two

Hi Everyone happy Wednesday,

We have an event  running over at Colorful Creations called Layer Upon Layer by Design Team member Paula, if you are looking for something to get your creativity moving why not join in on this event, you will also have the opportunity to win a RAK and who doesn't love to win a prize?

I also loved the colours over at Black with Two and decided to combined these two challenges.

I took a different approach to the normal layering of papers that I do on most of my page, firstly I used some textured paste, followed by glimmer mist and I finished off with rubons.  I really love the look of these layers that I placed around the edges of the cardstock.  On the paper side of things I layered the banners and I also layered these with rubons and an overlay from Kaiser Craft.

Randomly around the edges of the cardstock I have used textured paste and a chicken wire template, I have then glimmer misted with Lime Twist and then used Kaiser rubons.

I also embossed the banners using several different patterns these where then sanded and inked.

Products Used:  Kaiser Crafts transparency, Devonshire and Devonshire Tea rubons, GM Lime Twist, textured paste, The Crafters Workshop chicken wire template, WeR Good Day Sunshine stickers, K & Company papers, Dusty Attic teapot chippie and American Craft paper cutout.

You have until the end of the month if you wish to in on either of these two challenges, we would love to see your creations.

Thanks for looking and for the sweet comments you left me on my last project.

Take Care

Guest Designers Sketch - Camilla Ekman

Each week at Colorful Creations we Spotlight a guest designer, this week we had Camilla Ekman, I'm sure most of you have seen Camilla's beautiful work, if not then pop on over and check out Camilla's work.

THE SKETCH

 MY TAKE

Its probably safe to say I strayed a whole lot on this one, firstly I twisted the sketch and after that it got lost in translation. Ooops!!!  I have a few of these portrait shots of my nephew and after doing my last grungy boy page and thought I would do another one.  I used papers from Kaiser Craft, did loads of tearing and distressing, added some machine stitching and punched corners and finished of with some coloured textured paste and masking.

I had a piece of Dusty Attic left over from another project that I thought worked in beautifully with the whole grunge theme and the alpha letters I embossed with Rangers White Puff and inked with black.

I also found an old Karen Fosters rubon with boys sayings and randomly rubbed these onto the page finishing with a spritz of Perfect Pearls "Blue Patina".

Products Used:  Kaiser Papers "On The Move"& Ättitude", Dusty Attic "Cottage Window" & "Typewriter Font", Ranger Perfect Pearls & Embossing Puffs, Prima Chipboard, Maya Roads Pin, Textured Paste, The Crafters Work Shop Masks, Karen Foster Rubons, Tim Holtz Film Strip, Inks and Hessian.

I hope everyone is have a wonderful weekend, its definitely been a warm one here in Sunny QLD with a side of smoke, unfortunately some people don't understand that when its been quite dry dropping a cigarette can start a fire and when you live on acreage its a little worrying, looks like the Fire Brigade has it under control and hopefully the winds will not pick up.   Otherwise POOF. I'm sure a fire would love my scrapping supplies.

As always thank you to those who have stopped by and left me their lovely and encouraging words, until next time.

Bye

ATC - Halloween

Happy HUMP day everyone, its been a super hectic few days celebrating a birthday, general day to day life and scrapping, at this stage I'm unsure whether I want to get over the hump or just roll back down the way I came, flop down on the ground....and do some good old stretches whilst I'm there.  Hows your week been so far?

Earlier in the week I finished creating my ATC's for the Dusty Attic Halloween Challenge, I have been wanting to participate in that Challenge for awhile and finally gave it ago.  WOW,  working in such a small confined space is a lot harder than what it looks, the ladies over at DA make it look so easy with their gorgeous little pieces of art.

Well I am proud to announce I have completed my first ever ATC's along with a little lesson learn't, do not  pick a die cut that is not only tiny but will also need to be run through the machine a couple of more times to get all the pieces.  Whilst it maybe fun making one, not so much when you are making 7 more,  and gluing!!! I'm saying no more I am just going to show you some pics so you get my drift about picking wisely...lol

MY FINISHED ATC

I think the Memory Box Spider die looks so funny dropping down from the Skeleton.

The wording says ENTER IF U DARE!!!

I used these cute little door plates from Dusty Attic, I coloured them first with some Luminarte pigments, I stamped a little image onto them, and then inked around the edges.  You can see just how tiny the skeleton bodies is.

I used Tim Holtz chipboard that I cut down to 2.5"x 3.5" which is the base of my ATC this comes embossed with a Harlequin pattern. I then gave it a couple of treatments starting with Gesso, Textured Paste, Stamping, and two colours of glimmer mist and a some Luminarte pigments.

This is just another shot showing you all the little pieces from the die cut, won't be rushing to use that one again...lol If you are looking for a good Skeleton die Memory Box has an awesome one that you only have to run through you machine once.

 2.5 x 6.1 inches

Other Products UsedPumpkin were cut from EP Chillings Worth Manor Range, Pink Paislee Phantom Stamps, Kaiser mini blooms & bling, Memory Box Spider & Web, MM Stamps, and tulle.

Hopefully I haven't left anything out, if there is anything you ever wish to know please feel free to drop me a line.  Thanks for looking and for leaving me your lovely comments on previous projects.

Have a great remaining week, bye for now.

Bliss - Hambly Screen Prints

Just a quick share, since its the weekend and really to beautiful to stay indoors, especially after the freakish weather we have been having.  Last weeks temperatures were reaching above 35C and yesterday they plummeted down to 6C over night, not to mention the freezing winds we had all day. Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to see snow but them's the breaks.

I created this page using mostly Hambly Products, a lot of you may know that this company is no longer Trading, however Paper Temptress has snapped up quite a few of their products with the added bonus of them being on sale....don't miss out. I would have to say the Screen Print Transparencies are one of my favourite products from this company as they are so versatile.

Click here if you wish to see the list of Hambly Products I have used.

I had a left over piece of pink transparency from the Antique Pink  Doily pattern from another layout I had done previously for Paper Temptress and decided to stamp on it.  I've used Stazon ink and some beautiful stamps from Graphic 45, they look so much better in real life as transparency is a little hard to photograph without getting a reflection.

I found this photo in my stash, I think my kids must have been playing with my phone whilst I was doing a little shopping on one of our trip to Sydney a few years ago, I think bordom must have set in....lol

Product used:
Hambly Screen Prints,
Websters Alpha Stickers, K & CO Cameo Sticker, Prima Flowers & Journal mat, Gaphic 45 Stamps, Cherry Lane Flourish die, Memory Box Butterfly die and Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, 7Gypysy overlay, glitter and dimensional pearls.

Have a fabulous weekend, thanks for looking and for you lovely comments.

Until next time

Twisted Blue Prints #15

Well it has been extremely hot here in Brisbane, for me anyway, its that sort of weather that make you feel a little drained and tired.  However I did finally get a page completed.  I have been wanting to do a grungy boys pages as its seems ages since I have scrapped the boys.  Here in my house my son its not keen on having his photo taken and unfortunately we have no family here in Queensland, so I rely on the odd one here and there that my sister inlaw sends me of my nephew.

I created this page for the twisted Blue Prints Challenge, if you would like to read more on this check it out over at Colorful Creations.  I twisted the sketch for my page.

GROWING UP

I have stitched,  punched and inked all the edges of the 2nd background  paper.  I'm not one for just using a particular company's paper range I like to mix and match to suit my needs.  The main background paper is one from October Afternoon sidewide range, 2nd is Sassfrasslass "Mix & Mend". Banner Strips are from Two Kaiser Ranges "Attitude & On the Move" Collection.

I coloured my textured paste with black paint and used this with a Crafters workshop templete and a template I made using my bubble punch. I have used two die cuts, Tim Holtz cogs and a sizzix luggage tag.

The Chippies I have used a from Dusty Attic the alphabet and a compass that I cut into pieces, these have been inked as well.

Other Products used:  Washi Tape, Kaiser & Hambly Transparencies and brads.

Thanks for looking and for comments that you take the time out to leave, who doesn't like to read comments and I know they take time to leave so they are always really appreciated.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Spooky Tag Challenge

We are getting a little spooky over at Colorful Creations so if you are wanting to get into the spirit come on over and check out all the fun events we have going.  I decided to do Rachael's Tag Challenge if you would like to read what the requirements are just click on the link and it will take you directly to the site.

HERE IS MY CREATION

We don't celebrate Halloween here in Australia, not that is stops people trying to introduce this into our country, we even have a few supermarkets endorsing products for those willing enough to host it in their neighbour hoods.  However I think we are a long way off, of it ever becoming part of the Australian culture.  In saying that I did enjoy creating this little tag.

I used papers from the Echo Park Collection Chillingsworth Manor not only are the papers lovely to work with the sticker sheets have some great elements.  I cut my tag out then dry embossed it with a Tim Holtz folder.  I glue stamped using my Pink Paislee Phantom stamp set and then gave it a dusting of super fine black glitter. {Note to self:  do not get glitter all over me before netball} way to much explaining to do when this happens...lol

For the wings I used a  Memory Box Spider Web die along with the little wee spider, the witches hat was a Quickutz die.  I then added a touch of Dusty Attic, using the mini barbed wire and key hole chippies. Dress was made from fabric scraps.

Products used:  Prima Blooms, Kaiser Bling, Echo Park Chillingworth Range, Dusty Attic, Colorbox Ink, Martha Stewarts Glue Stamp, Glitter, Tim Holtz Embossing Folder, Memory Box & Quickuts Dies.

Thanks for looking and don't forget this weekend we are having a "Give Thanks Crop" why not come along and join us.

Bye for now

October is here.....YAY!!!

Well the months just seem to be clicking over so quickly before we know it will be Christmas.  One of my friends posted on her Facebook status that she was expecting and I was thinking oh the poor girl, she had been training so hard at the gym to lose the weight from her last pregnancy it didn't seem fair to to just start making head way to be put it all back on again.  Well it wasn't a baby she was expecting but a reference to yes they will be expecting Santa in 12 weeks..lol.  OMG where is the time going!!!

I also wanted to share this beautiful gift my friend brought back with her from the Hunter Valley, not all of us a fortunate to take holidays or even afford them at the moment so it was really nice that she did think of my whilst she was on hers and brought me a little holiday cheer.  Funny really because I had a little gift waiting for her as well but min was some washi tape, better on the hips I suppose...lol

And what also comes with the start of the month, NEW CHALLENGES over at COLORFUL CREATIONS, no I'm not trying to scream this at you...just don't want you to neglect checking out this site and maybe joining in on the fun not too mention we have a RAK for each event and who doesn't like the opportunity to win free scrapbooking products.

I know most of the USA and other countries are heading into winter, however here in Australia the weather is warming up nicely so I just had to use some nice summer pastel colours.

Love this picture of my DD, we all had such a fun day. This will part of a double page so I can scrap the other photos that a friend took for me.

Again I have kept my page under the $10 budget.  The background paper is a really old SEI  paper from their Stitches collection at least 6 years old.

I used a crafters workshop stencil to create the circle with the dimensional pearls and my confetti was punched from scraps  from the paper that I matted my photo with.  Again this is paper is a really old MM watercolour paper nearly 8 years old.

Other products used:  FabScraps Victorian Range, Prima Blooms, Bazzill Cardstock, Basic Grey Scraps, WeR Alpha Stickers, MM Brads & PP, MME Swirl, Matha Stewarts bubble punch.  Unknown Ribbon, Twill and Stickers.

Thanks for looking and those to those that have left comments, they always appreciated.
