Catching up!!!

Hello & Welcome to another New Year.

I don't know about everyone else but I feel the years a going by fast and furious,  the winter's have seemed to have disappeared leaving us with what feels like to me countless days of summer.  I get that we live in Queensland and its way more tropical than other parts of Australia, however I still miss a half descent winter that I would have had in Western Australia.

My new goal this year is to craft whether its hot or not, ha ha ha now there's a plan and to keep up to date with my Blog posts.

With that in mind,  I thought I had better start with playing catching up and posting all my Design Team projects that I did for Scrapmatts.

The background paper used here was a Mintay paper and I have also cutout our
flourishes from a  13Arts paper.

My recent creations is this 80th birthday card I created for a friend.  I created the background using some watercolour paper along with Tim Holtz distress oxide sprays, glitter washi tape as well as some mixed media style stamps and distress ink.

If you would like to know what chipboards were used, they are all Scrapmatts chippies and you can find the links on my blog post on their blog.

Just a side angle to show all the layering I've done.  Old Making Memories foam stamps work beautifully with distress oxides which is how I created the 80.  Simply stamped on watercolour paper and then cut out.

Thanks for dropping by.

Celebrating Mums with Scrapmatts

Hi & Welcome

Its been a little while since my last post, so much for life slowing down once the kids leave home....no such thing.  My reasoning behind this is,  because you are no longer needing a schedule and times just seems to get away from you when you don't have one.

The page I created this month for Scrapmatts uses a picture taken on Mother's Day, It was great to spend the day with my mum which I haven't had the chance to do in years.  That's another thing with time, in a blink of an eye its just gone and you don't want to look back and wish you had done things differently.  We all need to be making the time to spend with our parents before they to are gone.

We started of the day with breakfast at home, then we headed of to Brisbane for a lovely lunch at the Six Acres Restaurant followed by some shopping in the city.

For the background paper I have used one of the new Prima Fruit Paradise - In Season paper.  As much as I love doing mixed media its nice to have a background that you don't have to do to much to.  I have also used papers from the Mintay Collection Life's Stories.

Other products used:

Scrapmatts - Clocks 09 embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang, Words
Lindy's Stamp Gang - Bonjour Butter embossing powder
49 & Market Flowers
Prima - Fruit Paradise - In Seasons paper, SIIC Flirty Fleur, Washi Icons, Color Bloom in Iris and Wild Raspberry
Prills
Embellish With Flair - Vintage Bees

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed my share for Scrapmatts this month.

A Belated Christmas

Hello & Welcome

Well it's been a little while since my last post, hubby and I took a road trip across to Western Australia.  Just the two of us and our fur babies, we loved it.  Okay there were parts on the Nullarbor that I wish it would just end but other than that it was a great experience.  We travelled over here way back in 1992 and whilst somethings had changed so much hadn't.  Like mobile service OMG who would have thought that this day and age that there would be none.  So at the first port of call with any mobile service I downloaded some Netflix....as you do...to help you get through those long boring sections.   Anyway I had better get on with it and show you what I have been working on.

I started these pages last year, but ran out of time getting them finished and totally forgot my Design Team post. This is why they are Christmas Themed, however I'm sure there are a few of you out there who haven't Scrapped last years Christmas photos.

Christmas Cruise

I  have used quite a bit of mixed media product along with some fussy cutting to get the layers onto this page.   I loved using the new Distress Oxides spray in Iced Spruce.  Love the effect you get .

Some close ups of the Scrapmats chipboard that I have used, I like the raw look of the chippies and with a couple of swipes of ink and some embellishing you can jazz these little pieces up.

On this next page I have used both Kaiser and Mintay papers, loved the colour way of the Kaiser paper and the Mintay has so many beautiful cutouts.

On this close up you can see the colouring and the crackle paint I've used on the Scrapmatt Christmas frame, I think I have used this design a few times as its one of my faves.

I love these wee little hanging ornaments, I've embossed them with the Stampendous distress powder, it gives them a nice two tone effect.

And of course you have to add a little tree to embellish the page.

If you would like any of these product pop on over to the Scrapmatts shop and get yourself some of these beautiful chippies....they are also an Australian company.

Thanks for stopping bye.

Our theme this month is, as always,
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
Please make sure you use multiple mediums on
your  projects.

Today I have a gift bag and card to share with you using the Graphic 45 Collection Imagine.  Love this collection and it worked beautifully for what I had in mind.

These little gift bags a great as they double up as a envelope for the card as well as giving you something top pop you gift in.  This was being sent across to Western Australia for my mum to give to someone who is turning 50 so I have left ribbon decorating to her.

My mixed media products I have used on the card where Nuvo Mousse, I used two colours when passing it over my template followed by some Prima Blooms sprays once it had dried.

I have inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink Old Linen.

Love the Hero Arts template, its a great mix of letters and numbers.

Usually I recycle paper bags that I get at the shop, but it seems since we have gone green we are having to bring our own and I don't really end up with any anymore.  I purchased this one from one of the cheap junk shops.

I have fussy cut the paper and layered using foam tape to give some dimension.

I don't know which range it was, but it was a older Kaiser sticker sheet, apparently we only get the number 1 - 10, no zero which wasn't very helpful.  So I had to used the number 10 and cut it down so I could have the number 40.  I think Kaiser should re-think their sticker sheets and add a zero.

 Product use:

Prima - Bloom Sprays and Flowers
Kaiser Craft - Sticker
Tim Holtz - Distress ink Old Linen
Nuvo - Embellishment Mousse
Graphic 45 - Imagine Collection
Kindy Glitz
Bazzill - White Cardstock
Memory Box - metal die
Hero Arts - Stencil

Thanks for stopping by, I hope Ive given you some inspiration and look forward to seeing your work in our gallery.

Until next month, take care.

Creative Artiste's #42nd Challenge

Welcome to Creative Artiste Challenge #42

Happy Friday to all my crafty friends and welcome to
Creative Artiste's #42nd Challenge.

Thank you to everyone who shared their wonderful projects with us for Challenge #41 last month.
Choosing a winner and Top Three was very difficult. If you would love to see the winner please pop on over to the blog.

This month our wonderful sponsor is the fabulous
Who are offering a $25 prize to our winner.

Our theme this month is, as always,
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
Please make sure you use multiple mediums on your  projects.

For this month's Challenge I did a mixed media Scrapbooking page of my daughter and her friend.

I've used a watercolour sheet that has been printed with a resist flower pattern along with gold foil.  I have used Prima Bloom mists in Tangerine and Sunshine followed by texture paste.  Once this was dry I have used some old numbers that I had laying around.   Funny enough I created this background a few months ago but hadn't yet had the chance to use it.  When going through my photos I thought this one worked beautifully with it.

Here in the close up you can just see the little spots of gold.  I have also stamped using archival ink.  The pearl flourish I've used is a really old Prima one that I have jazzed up.  I have also done a lot of splattering of paint to build up texture.

And last but not least, I have used these beautiful new Prima flowers from the Flirty Fleru collection.

Thanks for dropping by, hope you have enjoyed my share for this month and we look forward to seeing all of your creations.

Until next time!!!

Creative Artiste Challenge #40

Welcome to Creative Artiste Challenge #40

Happy Friday to all our crafty friends, followers and visitors and welcome to
Creative Artiste's #39th Challenge.

Thank you to everyone who shared their wonderful projects with us for Challenge #40 last month and thank you for all the fabulous entries. It made choosing a winner and Top Three very difficult.

To check out last months winners pop on over to the Blog.

Its only fitting that I scrap a photo of my husband and I when we visited Hobart, we weren't exactly dressed for the weather at the Top of Mt Wellington but the views were spectacular.  I am fortunate enough to fly across there this week in the hope to getting to see snow for the first time not to mention get some great pics.

I have been having some fun using the Kaiser foam art paper, along with the Heartfelt Creations large Peony die and stamp.   These turn flowers turn out so beautifully, if you haven't tried it, give it ago.  I also used to different Lindy's embossing powders, I love the softness you can achieve with these powders.

I also used a 13Arts template, I think it worked beautifully with the background paper.

Well fellow crafters, sorry this is short and sweet however I need to get this post done before I catch my plane,  and as mums  there always seems so much to do before we head off on a holiday.

Happy Scrapping!!!!
