Creative Mixed Media Challenge #38

Welcome to Creative Artiste Challenge #38

Happy Friday to all our crafty friends, followers and visitors

Thank you to everyone who shared their wonderful projects with us for Challenge #37 last month.
We had so many wonderful entries which made choosing a winner and Top Three very difficult.
To have a look to see if you were successful go to our blog.

Unfortunately we have been let down by this month's planned sponsor at the last moment and we don't have a sponsor's prize to offer our winner.
So .....
Instead, we are offering a Guest Design Team slot for one month to the winner for May. The position will be available for our July challenge, got to be happy with that!

Our theme this month is, as always,
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"

My creation for this month is canvas using one my favourite products Stamperia Rice paper.

On the close up here you can see the Stamperia crackle paste, one of my favourite products.  I found some old Kaiser rubons and although were a little hard to rub off the paper, worked well enough for the look I was going for.

I embossed and coloured some vellum using a Carabelle stamp.

Other Products used:

Prima - Crystal Drops, large stones, Bloom spray, flowers & die cut leaves
Wow thick white embossing powder
Stamperia - Crackle paste & Rice paper
old rubons out of my stash

Thanks for stopping bye and I look forward to another month of gorgeous creations from you all.

Scrapmatts - Card & Gift bag set

Hello crafty friends, hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Today I share a gift set I have created using the lovely Scrapmatts products.

For the gift bag I have just used a paper lunch bag and inserted some cardstock to give the bottom strength,  this will also double up as an envelope for the card.

Scrapmatts products used for this Ornate Frames & Scrap Words 33.

I have layered behind the frame torn scraps of paper and stamped with a Kaiser craft stamp.

For my card again layered firstly with some cardstock followed with timber look printed paper.
The timber paper was cut, distressed and inked.   I have also used Stamperia's crackle paste
with a Scrapmatts template, followed by some Scrapmats, String of Roses chipboard.

Other Product Used:

Prima Flowers & mists
Sean Binding
Kaiser - ribbon & harlequin stamp
unknown flowers
Archival ink

Scrapmatts Design Team Share

Good morning and welcome to my Scrapmatt's Design Team projects.

Well its been an absolute awesome storm season again here in QLD.  It seems we just get the internet back up and running and BOOM we have either lost it or its intermittent.  Then we have the dreaded call to Telstra, no one likes that, and after going through the usual stupid questions they finally agree its not working!!!!   Anyway we've all been through it so I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.  Needless to say its been a struggle getting my blog posts up.

First up I'm sharing a layout I have created using a collection of papers I've had in my stash to do with the Beach.  As well as the lovely Scrapmatts chippies.  I even pulled out my typewriter that I picked up for $10 and did some journalling, I sometimes get a little lazy with that side of my scrapbooking.

I have tucked some gorgeous hand dyed lace under the torn paper to give it a more 3D look, as well I've cut out these tiny little paper fish and raised them up with foam tape.

The close up pics also show you the inking and glitter that I have applied to my chipboard elements.

My 2nd project is a 3D Card I have made using the new Spellbinders Dome 3D card Set.
I must say I'm loving this die and its versatile enough to use on your scrapbooking pages as a frame.

I have stamped on one of the circles that get cut out when you use this die and this was adhered to the back with some 3D foam.  The Scrapmatts chipboard used here was from the new Wildflower 02 collection that was newly released.

On this close up you can see just how intricate this die is.  I have also cut and raised the flowers and butterfly and embellished them with shave ice.

Product Use:

Prima - Paper, stickers & SIIC
49 & Market - paper & flowers
Scrapmatts - Twigs, Nautical, Shells 02, Wildflower
Tim Holtz shaved ice, oxide ink
Bazzill cardstock
Spellbinders 3D Grand Dome Set
Songbird paper collection
hand dyed lace
shell brads

Thanks for stopping by.

If you would like to see the winners projects,
pop on over to the blog

Our lovely sponsor this month is:

Our theme this month is, as always,

This month I decided to work with a canvas, I use the term loosely.  I can't remember the company who manufactured these but its basically a card board canvas.

The word Beyoutiful is gold foil printed along with a resist pattern.  However when I misted it with some Prima colour Blooms it didn't really expose the You part like it should. To make it standout I have used white puffy paint. The rest of the background was created using some Stamperia rice paper & crackle paste, Scrapmatts doily stencil, as well as some stamping and some prills.

Embellishments used:

Prima & Kaiser Craft blooms
MME - chippboards
Memory Box - butterfly die
Ranger - dimensional pearls

Thanks for dropping by and we would love for you to stop by the blog and check out all the other Design Teams amazing altered projects.

Bye for now!

New Year, New Creations with Scrapmatts

Wow, can you believe we are already nearing the end of the first month of the New Year!
I don't know whether its just speeding up as we get older and we are just trying to pack more into life, or are we slowing down and just not achieving as much.

Anyway on that note, I was able to grab some time to get creative.  After clearing away all the Christmas decorations,  I came across quite a few items of packaging that I thought it would be such a shame just to chuck in the bin.  With that in mind I've created a keepsake cylinder, which once housed my daughters new boom box.  I thought it would be nice to to get some of the treasured baby keepsakes out storage and pop them into something a little nicer as well as easier to find.

I've used some sweet Scrapmatts chippies, see if you can spot them.

I have coated the chipboard with Nuvo Embellishment mouse in Mother of Pearl, as well as Prima's Memory Hardware Powder, Marquise Blue and inked the edges with some green ink.

I also created a Christmas page documenting our Christmas Day traditions.  Although I think this year we were a little on the lazy side due to the heat.

Love these adorable little Christmas Baubles, I have blinged them up with some gold powder.  I have also used the Scrapmatts Doily template with Stamperia's crackle paste.

I have to say the Scrapmatts chippies in white are my fave, they are perfect for colouring when you are wanting them to tie into you page.

Thanks for stopping by, if you would like to grab these Scrapmatts products, you can buy directly from their online webstore.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Until next time!
