Hi & Welcome

Well the count down is on, exactly 16 more sleep and the big fella will be here!!!!

This past month or so has been super hectic for our family, with a quick trip to Perth for my Grandfather's 90th, my daughter buying her first home and all that comes with it as well as the everyday life we have to deal with, its hard to take the time out to do what we love the most.

With that said, I finally had time to put my tree up, Ive never misssed getting it up on the 1st unitl this year!!!  :( None the less its up with a few new decorations that I was fortunate enough to find in David Jones as well as making some of my own this year.

Using the lovely Christmas Funky Flairs Ive made two Christmas Baubles as well as a Santa's hat Christmas Card.   Hope you enjoy checking them out as much as I enjoyed making them.

Scrapmatts Triple Treat Event

Well its been an absolute whirlwind of a day, I met the lovely Sofia and Andrew the owners of Scrapmatts.  I have been on the Design Team for 6 months now,  and it was so great to meet these two.  They work so hard to bring us such amazing and inspirational products to work with and they are an all Australian Company, cheers to that I say!!!!

Alison Bevis is the organiser of this event and you can see a lot of work goes into the whole day, from the gift bags to the food and Im sure everyone who attended appreciates all the little details and the prizes won. I saw lots of great goodies being handed out as prizes.  Thanks so much for inviting me to teach, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many new people as well as getting to meet in person so many people that you see around the traps on blogger and facebook.

I was also lucky enough to use a few of the new products that Scrapmatts have just released on my page and I saw quite a few ladies purchase some extra ones, looks like they were a hit.   Everyone did a great job with the time allocated and I tried to make sure that I spoke to each and every attendee, I might not remember everyonés name but thank you for making my day enjoyeable.

Christmas Magic

The background was a little bit of a challenge, we used white cardstock along with dry embossing for texture and added gesso and texture paste.  Once dry we have added shimmer dust in Candy & Lush from Colour Blast.  It really was when the fun;started happen, well at least it was for me!!!!

Here are some close ups, you can see the lovely Scrapmatts Christmas Ornaments. I love that they are already coloured so its just a matter of gluing them on.  For some added detail I have used som red prima wire thread.

Here you can see the Scrapmatts String Circle Holly, firstly we painted it with gesso, followed by the glimmer dust and for extra detail Christmas stamps were used.

Included in the kit was enough product to create the flower sprays, along with the matting papers, stamped straw and hand cut die leaves.  It was possibly an all day class but we all managed to squeeze the bulk of it into 2 hours without feeling to pressured.

All the Scrapmatts product can be purchased dirctly from their website.

Thanks for stopping by, Im sure I won't be getting to many more posts done before Christmas, so I will wish everyone now a safe and happy one!!!

Those that asked about my Scrapbooking website, unfortunately it crashed so until I get a new one organised you can find me over here on my Facebook page!

Bye for now!!!!

Funky Flair September Challenge

Hello & Welcome

Today I am sharing with you a layout I created for the Funky Flair's Challenge.

Evie Ray has created yet again another gorgeous mood board that should get your creativity juices flowing.  I have also used the Bohemia Kit, which sold out in minutes!
However there are still some mini kits available.

How cute is the arrow from the Bohemia Kit!!!

The die cut dreamcatcher has been heat embossed with two colours and to finish it off I have added the flair to the centre.

I have also used loads of gesso, colour paste as well as shimmer dust to create the background.

I have used Nestabilities Grand Circle cutter to frame the photo, drawing your eye back to the focal point of the page.  I really pulled some of my products out from the archives here!!!  The word faces was cut from a really old printed sheet that had also been ded to give it its colour.  This pic also shows the gorgeous washi tape they came with the Bohemia kit, shame the bling on it doesn't show up as well.

Well I hope I have inspired you to pull out your old products and combine them with the new.

Here is my full list of products:

Heavy weight white cardstock
Paper - Bo Bunny, Graphic 45 & Daisy Bucket Designs

Funky Flair Studio Challenge

Good Morning & Welcome back!

Today I am up again over at the Funky Flairs Studio!!!  We had a gorgeous mood board with a citrus feel.  Currently I am in the process of creating a 8" x 8" baby album for my sons friend that has just had a baby.  I've used a little camera stamp to indicate to the recipient where to place photos, well that is the idea!!!

This months mood board!

I have used a mix of products from Companies such as Websters, Graphic45, along with Memory Box die's, Prima embellishments and of course Funky Flair products.
Stitching adds a beautiful finish to your pages.  I have also layered some
beautiful embossed K & Company Vellum.
One of my favourite baby ranges was one of Websters Pages original prints,
they produced gorgeous paper that had so many beautifully pieces to cutout which was
a economical way to add embellishments to your page.

Product Use:

Funky Flair Studio - Flairs, stickers & embellishments
Martha Stewart - punches
Memory Box - metal dies
Prima - blooms
Melissa Francies - glitter chipboard
Papers - Crate Paper, Websters Pages, K & Company, Graphic 45
Spellbinders - metal dies

Thanks for dropping by, hope you enjoyed!!!

Until next time bye for now!

Thanks for lo

ScrapMatts & Kraft Plus Challenge

Good Morning, I'm here today to share with you a few pages I have been creating for an 8"  mini album.  Its been awhile since I have gifted one of these and my preference is to give one that fits easily enough into protective sleeves so that it can be better preserved from acidic fingers.

Its also great for using up those little scraps you have lying around and perfect
for those delicate little Scrapmatts pieces.

The first two pages I will be sharing with you today I have used the Scrapmats Roses CB1202 02.
They work in beautifully with their delicateness however Rose is also the flower
attached to the babies name Ava!

Here is something you might not have know either, from one 12" page after cutting you have enough paper to make the opposing page.  Depending on how the pattern runs, which is great as you're not left with heap of more scraps!

I also use my Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities to crate the decorative background circle, as well as some really old Making Memories felt stickers that I have jazzed up with some kindy glitz.

The Scrapmatts engraved words and sayings used have just been given a slight inking around the edges to make them pop and the roses have been inked and heat embossed with some Zing embossing powder.

KRAFT PLUS CHALLENGE - TASSLES

I also had a chance to play along with this challenge, although my page is a little small to put a heap of tassels on it.  Also because this is gift I wanted to keep it someone what simple.

My background I've used is a Bazzill Basics Kraft paper that has embossed with gold.

I have used a couple of mask to layer the background with before adding my papers.

Above you can see I have created a little silver and clear bead tassle, delicate enough to work beautifully in with the size of this page.

These two pages will be for photos of Ava and her Uncles!

Here I had to get a little creative with these gorgeous Melissa Francis glitter chippies as they never seem to come with enough letters.  So with some cutting I was able to make an E & S as well as in the page above I had to use the H to create an A.  I have also used a cute  little Funky Flair as a balloon for this adorable Memory Box stitched die cut that I cut out.

Products used:

Maya Mist - White out
Prima - Emerald Color Bloom mist, Heaven Sent Collection
Crafters Workshop Templates - Mini Love Heart
Making Memories - Ribbon words, alphabets
Memory Box - Stitched Elephant die
Other Products:  Zing Embossing Powder, Kindy Glitz,
Versa Color Ink, Textured Paste, Twine and flowers.

Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoyed my shares today.
Thank you also in advanced for any comments you may take the time out to leave.

Until next time, Bye for now!!!!

Sketchy Boards Challenge & Scrapmatts

Hello, thanks for stopping by!

Its a beautiful mild sunny day here in Queensland, I was hoping for a little more cold weather but it seems that is not going to be the case.  So those enjoying snow, enjoy, not all of us get to experience that  in our life time.

First up today I have my page I created for the Sketchboards Challenge, my take on the sketch has been twisted to say the least.  The background was created by firstly layering lots of little squares that I cut from some really old Basic Grey papers, I think the collection was one of the very earlier Motifica ranges.

https://www.facebook.com/Sketchy-Boards-Challenge-288160934691295/?fref=ts

This was the Sketchy Boards mood board, which I feel I have reflected quite well in my page.

Next up Its my turn to post over on the Scrapmatts Blog.

Again I have used some lovely old Basic Grey papers, personally I think these old ranges are perfect for mixed media.  They already have a mixed media look to them so they are great for layering with paints, textured pastes and everything else mixed media.

I have used quite a few templates and and stamps to create the background along with mists and transparency cutouts.

A close up of the adorable little Scrapmatts feathers.

Funky Flair Studio & Guest CSi

Hi & Welcome

We are enjoying some beautiful cooler weather here in Queensland!  Today I think its going to be a high of 17 degrees which means I can keep a light jumper on all day. Yes I am one of those rare people that enjoy the cooler days.  Its easy to keep  warms  but so much harder to stay cool.

Well first up I have the Funky Flair Studio's July Challenge page.  Eve Rae certainly knows how to pick beautiful colours to get you inspired. Of course as a Design Team member we get to use the gorgeous products that Eve creates, however if you don't have any you can still play along.

These fun pics where taken of my daughter and a friend at his end of year graduation.  He is quite shy and it was so good to see pics of him coming out of his shell!!!

To create the background I have used a couple of different templates from Scrapmatts & The Crafters Workshop templates along with mixed media  products such as, gesso, textured paste, micro beeds, crackle flakes, inks and mists.  And without a heat gun it does take a couple  of days for these pages to dry.

This close up shows the adorable little funky flairs that I have used  and they can be purchased over here.  Each month there is a new release so you won't be dissappointed by the variety.

Next up as a Scrapmatts Design Team member we were asked to play along over at CSI and here is what I created agin using some beautiful Scrapmatts products.

To create the background on this one I've used gelatos, Prima stamp & template along  with some hand stitching.  The gorgeous  feather is from Scrapmatts and I have embossed with white and then inked the edges.  Letters have been cut using some old Quickutz dies and I have used washi tape on them.

And for those that have taken the time to read my blog posts, I mentioned a few posts ago I had been busy taking on other challenges so today I will share what I created for a swap.

We had to create a lap size quite no smaller than 701cm x 120xm and the bulk of the fabric had to be by a Design Tulla Pink.  On this one I have used applique work along with machine and hand stitching.

Loved how this turned out and can't wait to make another couple!!!

The arrows and feather patterns I was able to find as free patterns online, however the fox I had to create myself,   Had so much fun  making this and when you don't have pattern there are few learning curves and I didn't want to give it away when I had finished.  However I am sure the person that received was  more than  happy.

Well that is all from me today have a Happy Monday and thank you in advance any comments you may have time to leave.

Bye for now!!!
