Sketchabilites #125

Hi there, hope you're having a great weekend!

Today  I would like to share with you the layout I created for the Sketchabilities sketch challenge,  its been sometime since I've been able to play along with their beautiful sketches.

Here is my take!

I used photos that were taken of my kids whilst they were holidaying in Perth quite a few years ago.  Yes they are not portrait perfect,  however that is what scrapping is all about!!!

I've used a number of different manufacturers here the papers are from Kaiser Craft, the bottom sheet is Con Brio from Chanteuse Collection and the 2nd layer up is Beloved from the Porcelain Rose Collection.  Some of the photo mat layers are packaging from Prima along with a few scraps from their Stationer's Desk & Cigar Box Secrets Collections.

Just a couple of close us, I used several stamps to create the back ground along with masks, gesso and gelatos'.  I have also machine stitched around the edge and randomly border punched.

Other Product used:

Prima blooms & mask
Memory box - Gwyneth Floral
Blue Fern & WOW Chipboard
Sequins
Stickers - unknown
Washi Tape
Stamps - Impression Obsession, Autumn Leaves

Prima BAP & Show Us Your Stuff Challenges

Welcome crafty friends!!!

I've had a busy couple of days sorting through my paper stash trying to put it into some kind of order,  ha ha ha  Order!!!  Not sure that is even possible, seems every time I have it in what I deem as a good working order, I still find myself spending way to much time looking for stuff, rather than creating.  Anyway whilst doing this I found a really old Prima paintables 12" sheet and decided it would be perfect for a Prima a challenge,  de-constructed it and used it as the main part of my layout.

I wasn't inspired to go with Halloween since its not something we celebrate here in Australia, however I did love the colours that were selected.  I also decided to combine it with a Sketch Challenge over at "Show Us Your Stuff".

Here is my take on both of these.

For the colour work I used the Prima Blooms Tangerine and Colbalt and applied with a fine tip paint brush.

Textured paste along with Prima's mask was used to create the background work along with some beautiful Prima Blooms.  The hand made flowers were created using Magnolia's Doohickeys Peonies and I have dyed these using Cobalt and gold gelato's along with Shabby Blue embossing enamel.

Products used:

Wow - chipboard frame
Gesso & textured paste
Glossy accents
Prima - Chevron stencil, flower blooms, pearls

Tangerine and Cobalt & Lime Wedge

Prima Paintable
Flair's
Stampendous - shabby blue embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by and thank you to those that always take the time to leave me a comment.  Have a great week!!!!

Sketchabilities #124

Hello all  my crafty friends....

As I said in my last post it's been a hectic few months and whilst I still haven't quite worked out my crafty space I did finally get a chance to scrap.   Although I didn't meet the time frame I thought I would still share anyway.  I love the sketches over at Sketchabilities, I find them not only inspirational, but a good way to challenge yourself when your time poor like me.  Like any challenge I like to at least try and incorporate the obvious challenge in it, for me it was the hexagons.  Sometimes it can be a shape or a colour that you just don't often use so when it comes up in a design I like to challenge myself and try and use it rather than avoid it.

I was also able to to make use of one of my recent purchases a Creative Memories Hexagon punch.  Not that I really, really needed one, but needless to say I now have one...lol  Even better it punches out 2 sizes.

My take on the Sketch!!!

For the background I've used a mix of printed tissue paper, Maya Roads white mist, black gesso and teal tumble dry colour.

For the hexagons I've used a mixed of punched out one and some transparent one's that I cut from an old Hambly Sheet, I then did some machine stitching over them.

The paper for the background is an old Cosmo Cricket paper from the Salt Air range and I have also used a Websters Vellum print to frame the photo.

Products used:

Cosmo Cricket - Fish tales collection
Websters - 6"vellum sheet
Me Minds Eye - Banner stickers
printed tissue paper
blooms
Glitz - transparent element
Kaiser gems
Tim Holtz - splatter template

Thanks for looking and hope your having a wonderful day.

Bye for now!!!

Quick Hello!!!

Hi Everyone

I cannot believe its been well and truly over a month since I started the revamp of my craft space.
I dreaded even the consideration when hubby suggested it, then after much thought I went with it.  As much as I'm loving the transformation its has been quite involved and time consuming,
I  blame this on PINTEREST!!!!  I couldn't simply just do a lick a paint on the wall and floors  with some new cupboards.  I decided I needed some inspirational quotes on the wall,  apparently these takes weeks to arrive, and some sweet fabric accents, such as curtains.

And with all this going on I spent 15 days over  in Perth visiting family, I hadn't seen my Grandfather who is now gong on 86 for quite a few years and it was great to see although he stoops a lot more he is still in good health and spirit.  Now I am back and just wanting to scrap so badly but still have jobs in my craft room to sort out.  I still have a few curtains to sew, Im thinking some sheer curtains will cut down on dust but still allow me to see what in my cupboards and it really is a big task to go through your craft room that has been an accumulation of over 10 years worth of collecting.

Anyway I have not layouts to share so I thought I would share some pics of my new space to date.

Love this one, especially that my craft work station face's it.

Another wall sticker quote and some of the curtains I have made to hide my albums.

My new punch and die cut station.  Still wanting some magnetic boards so I can see some of my favourite die's at a glance.

A revamp of an old chair that I was going to throw out.

Now all I need to do is get all my shelves sorted out with all my scrapping gear so I can start creating....Yawn!!!  already bored with the thought of that.

Bye for now!!
