Queens Birthday Long Weekend

Well our long weekend is nearly over and I had a  list of jobs I needed to get through outside ready for the 18th Birthday Bash, well  that didn't happen it rained non stop all weekend.  For some your probably thinking that it was an ideal scrap weekend, the only problem is my craft room is in a shed and it gets quite cold so scrapping was out of the question as well.  Oh well, I did however get a new mattress for my bed and can say I slept blissfully last night for the first time in ages.  On the other hand my husband reckons he had a terrible night sleep, hopefully that's just a settling in process as the likely hood of being able to cut the new and the old in half an joining them together is not going to happen, funny though.

I wanted to share with everyone that over at Cést Magnifique you have the chance to win the Bits & Pieces from Leslie's kit.  Our June kit, "My Cottage Garden", features paper from Les Papiers de Pandore (a French company) and Meg's Garden (Australia).  Here is a photo of what Leslie had left-over from her kit:

And here is a layout I did manage to get done whilst I was away on my scrapping retreat, I know pretty slack getting only one completed, but I do have another one I will share that I started whilst away and now have finished, just need it to stop raining so I can take a photograph.

The photo is of my DD opening one of her Christmas Presents, I had yet to scrap it and thought I would use something non traditional and document about the Fads that come go.

I saw this Prima paper line and wasn't overly keen on it until I saw it in the flesh and enjoyed working with it. Other products used are stickers from Bo-Bunny, Matha Stewarts punches, Dusty Attic Flowers.

Thanks for looking and be sure you pop on over the Cést Magnifique for you chance to win the left overs.

Also wanted to send a shout out to all those who have signed up at Colorful Creations, and those that have been making it part of your community by becoming active, the work in the gallery is looking amazing.  Don't forget most of the Challenges are now monthly and we are also having a Design Team Call.

Okay so this post wasn't as short as I had intended it to be so those that did get this far, thanks for reading and for all your lovely comments that you may leave in advance.

Bye for now

  2. Very pretty layout Fi - the photot looks lovely too. I know what you mean about that line - I didn't buy it - it looked too candy striped for me, but of course you have made it look gorgeous! I had the same problem this weekend - even now - my studio is just too cold to scrap in in the middle of Winter & it has been storming here too...
