Love the Palette this week over at CCG. It was a great opportunity to use pictures of my Son. Whilst I love using the odd flowers on my pages I prefer to use other products. So since Im trying to get rid of my stash of Basic Grey rubons I thought I would use them again. The beauty of these are even though they are starting to perish a little and not rub off the sheet you can use them on your backgrounds and if they don't rub off, then you can overlay with something else. This is basically what happened with this batch of rubons.
Part of the Challege was also to incorporate clouds so I used my Quickuts border cloud die as a mask and then cut around the negative and stuck that down for some extra dimension. I've also used my QK cloud die for the floating clouds and cut from a Kaiser paper the large splashes of water and glued them down. Other products used are Tim Holtz distressing stamps, Dimensional Pearls and Heidi Swapp Acetate.

Color Combos Galore 175
I really enjoyed doing this weeks Palette over at Color Combos Galore, although we don't celebrate National Tea day here in Australia, well to my knowledge anyway, I decided to do a layout on my puppy. The Challenge was to use the word Comfort either in the Journalling or Title. I forgot to do this however I did find a quote instead that for me described the comfort of a puppy. For those who have a love of animals will know they give us plenty of comfort when its needed.
I used two packs of Basic Grey rubons. For the background on the left hand side I firstly used magic mesh, then did some stitching before rubbing on the rubons. Which I then colored using watercolor pencils. On the right hand side I firstly stamped using one Tim Holtz Grundge stamps then stitched then used the rubons. The piece underneath the photo was rubbed on to white cardstock, colored then cut out and raised using foam dots. I did use some white paint to wash over the stamping.

A Little Late - Palette 40 TCR
Well I was a little late getting this one uploaded. But what can you do, with all the rain we have received over the Christmas period its not surprising that we had to eventually lose internet connection. Yes for 4 whole days, at least that was all I had to contend and being flooded in. Unlike so many others who lost so much. Our thoughts go out to you as you try to rebuild although that was destroyed.

Color Combos Galore 174
My first layout completed for the New Year. I have had visitors staying with me since the 21st December with one lot already gone back and my other stuck due to the flooding. And since we where flooded in I finally able to make use of the time and get at least one page done.
The photo is of my DD as she was doing up her 5" high heels, absolute madness, but she wanted them. She lasted about 10mins at her graduation before she started hobbling as they where killing her feet. So I thought what a nice way to remind her to choose more wisely next time. But it probably won't happen, sensible shoes are generally not very fashionable.
Loved this weeks Color Combos Galore Palette 174 so soft and pretty with a touch of boldness.
