Again, couldn't resist playing along over at CCG, loved the combo that Janet put together, so soft and pretty. Although I have to admit when playing along at a colour site I think I spend more time searching for the perfectly matched colour that thankfully I make up when I do the layout. Otherwise I'd be lucky if I get a page a week completed. Which is fortunate that Janet has now changed the site giving you 2 weeks for a page and then another 2 weeks to complete a card.
The three soft colours were a bit of struggle to capture on camera, fortunately it was raining today so no direct sunlight to bounce the light of the lighter colours, there was just enough sun behind the cloud to get a half decent shot. I decided to use the "Lavender" and "Gray" as my focal colours and used them in both the light and darker shades of the colours.
The background paper is a really old design I'm talking at least 6 yrs old from the Nostalgiques "The Attic Collection" by Rebecca Sower she was so way before her time. The thing I love about this paper is that there is no mess from gesso or texture paste and yet it looks like it has all those products on it.Well I got a little mess I still stippled some of the lavender shades on the background.
I have distressed both photos and the edges of the background paper, machine and hand stitched on my page.
As for the designers challenge I have used mesh quite a few times on my pages but decided to look for a different type of element and I thought the mesh in the bassinet fitted the challenge perfectly.
I added some little punched hearts around the page, then thought wouldn't it be great to have a little heart stamp when I remembered that I have a Quickutz stamp kit. So I made my own from the punch and stamped then randomly on the page.
Products used: Kaiser "Madame Boutique" "Timeless" , Basic Grey "Whats Up", Dusty Attic Blooms & Chipboard, LYB Backyard Trim PP, Cosmo Cricket Carton Girls Chipboard Stickers, K & CO Alphas, Jo Sonja Paints, QK Circles dies, Nestabilities dies, Martha Stewart Heart Confetti punch, Superfine glitter, Buttons handmade from Ivana Camdzic, Prima flowers.
Well I hope everyone is having a great day and its not wet and miserable like it is here, if you have some time why not pop on over to CCG and check out the beautiful creations from the Design Team.
