Color Combos Galore

Yep its raining again, the paper is soggy, nothing is drying and it feels like I haven't been that productive.  Of all weeks to take on challenges that require me to use textured paste and mist, it all seems to becoming together in one gooey mess.  Yes, I could use my heat gun to dry each application that I have applied,  but even the heat gun doesn't seem to be getting anything dry.  Needless I will solider on.

I did get this page to finally dry that I created for Color Combos Galore Palette 232.
I love colour challenges mostly because it challenges me to work within the confines of that palette.
Its definitely not everyone's cuppa tea, I'm sure a few will shy away from the challenge because the tones in the palette are not what they would normally work with, but then isn't that why its a challenge?

Its so great to see Janet back creating her beautiful palettes again along with the added extras to challenge yourself.   We would love you to pop on over and check these gorgeous palettes out along with some very inspirational work from our Design Team and Inspirational Boards.

Palette 230

I made this card for my daughters, boyfriends mother which apparently she just loved.  I have used the Lost & Found 3 range from My Minds Eye.

Palette 232

This picture is of my DD, her first time in the pub playing pool, on her 18th.
I used a old Pink Paisley paper for the background then layered it with my paper choices.
I don't often do gimmer mist first it just depends on what I have in mind when I start a page.
After I had everything glued down I decided some splashes of glimmer mist would be good.

Since nothing was drying, I grabbed some tissue to dab some of  the excess off and thought what the heck just smear it all over.   lol
I actually like the effect it created in the end.
I also used one of the Craftérs Workshop templates for the paint splatters.

There is such a mix of products on this page I think I will just leave the discription this time.

Thanks for looking and I hope you can join us over at CCG.

Bye for now

So You Think You Can Scrap - Week 7

Hi Everyone, hope the week so far has treated you well and you've had some time to get creative.
Mine has been its usual busy self between ripping up floors getting reading for tiles and just everyday running around it seems I barley have enough time to sit down and get some scrapping done.
I did however finally get time to finish off my page for the competition we have running over at

This weeks challenge to use a sketch and stay true to that sketch, we were  only allowed to use the colours red, yellow, blue and green.  Handstitching, misting and fussy cutting also had to be included on the page.

MY TAKE

I love this self portrait my daughter has taken of herself and thought it worked beautifully with the colours.

I think I have stayed true to the sketch but still allowing my style of scrapbooking show.  I wasn't overly keen with the colour selection to start with but now I actually really like them.

I have quite a mix of papers on this one Websters, Cosmo Cricket and Kaiser all pretty much out of the scrap pile.

The background was created on a Cosmo Cricket  "Nows A Good Thing" sheet of paper that I  texture pasted and I have then misted.  I fussy cut the red and yellow splashes  from the Sea Garden range of Cosmo Cricket.

Other product use:  Echo Park die cut banners & journal block, Prima flowers, Fiskars & Martha Stewart punches, Cherry Lynn flourish die, glitter and dimensional pearls.

Thanks for looking and for taking the time to leave your lovely comments.

Mid Week Catch Up

Well Hump Day has nearly been and gone for us here in Australia and its been another hectic start to the week for me.   However I'm taking a quick moment to share a layout that I recently did whilst I was in lock down for the storms....lol

Bare in mind my friend and I didn't take any of scrapping supplies with us so we had to make do with the ones we found in the house.

I used the Sketch from over at ScrapFriends.  I would have loved to have entered it into the challenge but unfortunately I missed the cut of date.

HERE IS MY TAKE

The chevron pattern was a fun accent to create using paper.  And I have hand stitched the butterfly trail.

Flowers and glitter alphabet were such a good score from the dollar shop, although they were not as cheap as a pack of Prima's they did cost under $4.00

The picture was taken of my son and his friend at his end of year Ice Dinner, for a normal school  this would be considered as a Formal.   In this case parents are allowed to attend and share the moment with them.
It was such a beautiful night to see not only my son but his friends all dressed up looking so gorgeous.

Products used:  Kaiser Craft papers "Timeless Collection" & "Save the Date" collections, packaging from flowers, Lilttle Birdie Boutique Elements, flowers and alphas, ink and embroidery floss.

Thanks for looking and to those that dropped by and take the time out to leave me comments they are always appreciated.

Colorful Creations - SYTYCS

Well I'm finally back home, although happy to be home its the catching up on everything from being away.

I did find a day to catch up on some of my friends blogs and with friends for our first scrap day of the year.

Over at Colorful Creations we kicked of this year with a competition called "So You Think You Can Scrap".  Weekly we are given a challenge and a criteria that has to be met or we a eliminated.

We are up to week 5 now and its been great to see the different takes on each challenge.

This weeks challenge was to use a sketch, distressing, tearing and a recycled product.

Here is my take

I have used two paper ranges here Authentique and My Minds Eye.  I cut the circle with my Nestabilities grand circle dies using a scrap piece really old Basic Grey paper and I have also machine stitched a couple of times creating the circle as well.  My recycled items is just under the word Joy it was the packaging left from the MME pearl swirl that I have embellished my page with.

The photos are of my daughter using my Ipad with Instagram, love the effect.

Products used:  Authentique Collection "Fresh", MME & Alpha Stickers, Pearls and  Äll is Bright" papers, Prima blooms, inks, Quickutz & Nestabilities dies, Heidi Grace rubons and odds and ends from stash.

Thanks for looking and for you lovely comments that you take the time out to leave, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Take Care
