White With Red + Circles or Polka Dots.

This is my second go at this Challenge, its interesting to see everyone's take on one colour and element. I decided to cut my photos into circles and incorporate the circles again by hand stitching half circles above them, so it sort of looks like they are jumping through it.

The photos here were taken by my Sister Inlaw whilst we were visiting in Perth, the kids were having so much fun wrestling each other down the sand hills.

I have used Kaiser papers and Jenni Bowlin core-dinations embossed cardstock.

Butterfly rubons are from Prima's reflections range, and letter stickers are websters.

Other products used are Dusty Attic chipboard and dimensional pearls and micro beeds.

Thanks for looking and for any comments thay you may leave.

XOXO - Challenge 19

My friend Tracee from the UK and I decided to do the XOXO Challenge again since we had so much fun doing the April one. So she threw a couple of names in a hat, so to speak, to decide which one we would lift. The first one pulled out didn't work for either of us....lol neither the 2nd ha ha ha so funny, although you probably had to be there. Another was pulled and we decided that one as well really wasn't our style, and no we wern't cheating...lol This left us with two to pick from. Tracee's placed one in each had and I chose a hand, giving us Michelle's Pretty Tulip layout to lift.

Since Tracee and I have completely different styles, we like to do a challenge like this to see what each of come up with. So here is my take on Michelle's.

Products used for this are Bazzill bling for the background and paper scraps are from Cosmo Cricket & Fancy Pants including the banner. Chipboard journal die cut is a Dusty Attic. Umbrella sticker and decorative swirls are K & Company and the flowers are a mix of prima and kaiser. K & CO and Basic Grey letter stickers and I have used Tattered Angels Creme de Rouge Glimmer mist with a prima mask.

Thanks for looking and for any comments that you may leave they are always appreciated.

Oh!!! And don't forget to come back later as I will have another layout for White + 1

Bye for now Fi

Color Combos Galore 197

PLEASE NOT: I just wanted to touch base with readers whether they are having the same problem that I have been having when it comes to leaving comments. The lovely Debbi Tehrani said she was and told me that when you go to comment and leave the page to log in, make sure you untick the box for keep me signed in, for some reason once you do this and log in it takes you back to the comment box where you can this time leave your comment. Hope this helps a few other out who are having problems, as this seemed to fix it for me.

This weeks gorgeous colour palette inspired me to do a boys page. Sometimes I like to go against the norm and prove just because they are girly colours they can be applied to a boys page without making it overly feminine. I feel I have achieved that with this page.

The inspiration prompt this week was to use a digital element on the photo, I used a digital frame purchased from 2Peas sometime ago and placed it over the photo which also happens to have some of the colours from the palette in it. I also dragged a larger side profile image of my son from another photo making it look like he is watching, just for a little bit of added fun.

For the background I used a Jenni Bowlin core-dinations cardstock that I sanded around the embossed image and I also machine stitched the top. I also challenged my self to use scraps for this page which I other than the background I used up lots of cutouts that I had sitting in my stash and scraps of paper.

The top cutout is from Pink Paislee 360, KI Memories is used through the centre and has been punched with a MS punch. I used two left over borders from FP Its the little things"range and the dogs had been cut from a Websters paper. The flowers behind the dog have the pink from the palette along with the letters in the title which are old making memories chipboard letters. The sentiment stickers is also from MM and I have this on a Dusty Attic chipboard journalling block.

I have used white gel pen to doodle between the top cutouts. Other products used are dimensional pearls and kindy glitz. Thanks for looking and I hope you have enjoyed the layouts I have created this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

HMITM - 174 Challenge

WHOOPS!!! I was a little late with this one, sometimes its just simply out of our control. But I have finally finished it....YAY!!!! All I can say is, Hats of to those who are on 10 designs teams. I do not know how they work full time and spend quality time with their families.

Challenge #174 - Sunny Flowers (June 20 - July 3)

Happy Summer!!

Midsummer is celebrated in a traditional way in Sweden in June, and includes dancing around a maypole and eating traditional food, and always strawberries. A lot of people wear flower wreaths/crowns on their heads. There is also a myth that if young people pick 7 different kinds of wildflowers, jump over 7 fences, and place the flowers under their pillow on this night, they will dream of the man/woman they will marry. This year Midsummer’s Eve falls on Friday 24 June.

My challenge is to do a layout:

- Using mainly light colours, and it must include at least a bit of yellow (for the summer solstice). I have used lighter shades including a light brown background, my yellow is in the flower and the paper is a slight yellow tone.
- 1 circle (for the sun)- cut from Websters Garden Gala
- 7 different types of flowers (if you want to, try making one or more handmade - flowers) - I decided to go with Prima, I have never used so many on one page...OMG!!!!
- 7 rub-ons or stamped images - Iused imaginisce Blooming Romance Collections, I counted sprays as one rubon and flowers as one.
- 24 other items - banner around the circle, title, branch and bird, pearl swirls, butterfly, leaves, aeroplane cutout and the glitter dot stickers off the thicker stickers.

Well thanks for looking, I think I am going to have to get up early in the cold and start taking photos even the late afternoon sun is causing to much glare.

Have a great week Fi

Color Combos Galore 196

Another great colour combo over at CCG, although its a little hard to be inspired by summer pictures whilst we are dealing with this cold weather. I was able to find some pictures taken of my children a couple of years ago whilst we were down at the beach.

My blue is photographing more blue than green and my photo programme is turning it more turquoise, those who know me know I'm a little bit of a colour Nazi...lol I hate when the layout photographs differently to what they actually look like in real life. I don't have time to take a photo in the morning and get it up in time so today I am making do.

Products used: Background cardstock is Vintage by BBasics, other papers are Junkitz Filigree, Senci Route Charlotte and Sassafraslass Mix & Mend. Stickers are from Hambly, Echo Park and Pink Paislee. All cutouts have been hand cut from K & Company, DCWV & Prima papers. LYB overlay was placed over the two photos. Other products used are TM die cut, perfect pearls and kindy glitz.

I have had such a super busy weekend searching for a car for my teenage daughter, its hard to believe when you look back at photos such as these how quickly time flys. This is why I do not scrap in any order, I love scrapping older photos, its such a great way to reminisce.

Color Combos Galore - 195

Loved this weeks vibrant colours, and couldn't resist using some pictures I have of my DS when he was packed ready to go on his longest camp yet. The colours worked perfectly and I thought the inspiration prompt for using a Hot Air Balloon also worked in perfectly. Camps are all about being adventerous and exploring new things, which is exactly what these kids do when they go on camps. I wanted a really fun happy feel to this page.

As usual I used a real mix of everything for this page starting with the Jenni Bowlin Textured core-dinations cardstock and Fancy Pants Block Party papers. Stickers are from Hambly and Echo Park. I Gesso'd the background and then sanded, a Matha Stewart border punch was used and I have raised quite a few of my stickers and cut outs. Thanks for looking and thank you for any of your comments that you may leave they are always welcome.

Challenge 173 - 6/6 All About 6

Going around in Circles!!!

The new challenge over at How Much is Too Much is all about circles. Did you know that 6 circles of any size when put together will make a complete circle with no gap in it? So you can guess where this is leading - the date for the challenge is 6/6 so we're going to use six punched out circles, buttons or brads and use it on the page in a circle.

Easy almost too easy so lets add something else in six, flowers, butterflies, bugs or anything that works for your page and 6 patterned papers.
So that's :

6 circles made into a circle - dots punched from Kaiser Seaside Range, these when then glued down onto circles I have punched from acetate and 3D'd to the page.
6 similar embellishments - Bird Stickers, Handcut flowers from Kaiser paper,
6 patterned papers - Glitz and Kaiser Seaside Range

Photo was cut into a circle and overlayed with a circle transparency from Little Yellow Bicycle. Yellow paint was used on the background paper along the edges and to highlight some of the pattern in the paper. Banners were cutout and raised with foam tape, along with crackle accents. Picture is of my DS that I captured when we were at the beach and he was just looking out at the water.

Thanks for looking, why not drop over to HMITM and give this Challenge ago, its a great way to delve into that stash and put it to good use.

Color Combos Galore 194 Challenge

After a busy weekend and week trying to unpack all my gear from attending a weekend retreat I finally had a chance to take a picture of my layout. This is very white space for me, and not my usual style. However since I couldn't take all of my bits and bobs with me I had to make do. I took these shots this morning so they are not the best.

I used a little bit of everything for this page, I covered the numbers in the date and the centre of the pin wheel is co-ordinations number cardstock. Papers used a from Cosmo cricket, Echo Park and some of the embellishments have been taken from a DCWV paper pack. I traced and cut the photo mat from another die cut shape I had and to bring the yellow in I did some stitching through the holes i had punched. I overlayed the photo with a 7Gypsy transparency. Other products used a dimensional pearls, ink, Pink Paislee and bazzill cardstock.

Thanks to all of those who dropped in and left comments whilst I was away on my retreat. This was a scrapbooking retreat that I organise for a group of us every year. We get 3 whole days of scrapping and all our feels cooked and have been doing this for about 6 years. Its a great opportunity just to scrap and not have to cook or clean. Mostly I worked on a mini album which is still not completed but it is 20 pages, hopefully I will have that up soon for you too look at.

Thanks for looking and for you lovely comments.
