Prima December's BAP & PPP

Welcome again, not long now and we will be welcoming in the New Year and then it starts all over again.  Like I mentioned in my last post I was away and able to fit in a few challenges, all though the biggest challenge away is trying to make do without all your normal scrapping supplies.  Well challenge accepted and I was more than happy with the result.

MY TAKE

I did start of with some of the color from the mood board but ended up added a few other colours.

This layout it was a lot flatter than what I normally do, I tried incorporating more of my stamps and stencils to create the background and I have used papers from both Cartographer and Something Blue.

Other Products used:

Prima - Bloom Stamps
Prima Flowers  SIIC
Prima - Bloom mists
Swirl die cut, textured  pasted and alphabet stickers

Scrap The Girls Challenge

Hi Everyone, hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and hopefully a break.  I took a little break just before Christmas and went to my friends house and we scrapped blissfully for a few days hidden away in the air con. We scoured the internet for a few challenges and I stumbled on the Scrap The Girls blog and loved the whimsical mood board and decided to play along.

My Take on the Challenge

The picture is a recent one of my daughter taken whilst we were having a casual breakfast at Cassaurina.  I used papers from Webster's Strawberry Fields Collection and I picked the teal from the butterfly wings.  I've also used a couple of different masks to create the background..

Other products used:

Nestabilities feather die
Twine
Texture paste
Blue Fern Chipboard
Prima - Bloom mists & flowers
Photo overlay

Prima 12 days of Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone,  I don't know about anyone else this past couple of weeks has been  super hectic.
I thought to it would be a great idea to participate in the Prima Challenge, we all interpret things that we read differently and the way I thought this challenge worked was that you needed to do all 12 challenges.  Hmmm maybe not the case after all, needless to say I started  with the intention of getting all 12 completed.  Unfortunately I have run out of time unless I can pull a miracle tomorrow. Of course I also left the photographing to the last minute and we had a severe storm and I ran out of decent light and only 3 photos look any good.   Anyway not to bore you with any more of the details here are the first 3.

Day 3  - Finnabair Products

Products used:  Micca Flakes, textured paste  paper.  All other products used are also from Prima.

Day 10 - Julie Nutting Wood Dolls

Products used:  Julie Nutting wooden doll all other products are Prima.

Day 12 - Cigar Box Secrets Collection

Products used:  Cigar Box Collection, includes hand made flowers and die cut pieces.

Funny enough I had used the Cigar Box Collection on my cards and luckily had enough scraps left to create this, I was also trying to really embrace the Christmas theme with shapes as well.
Stay tuned if you would like to see the remaining, I will have them up tomorrow

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Black with 2 - November Challege

Hi Everyone

The weekend has finally arrived and I am looking forward to getting some craft time in.
Its unbelievable how fast we seem to fly through a week and with the crazy season approaching it doesn't leave much me time, which is my craft time.  My daughter and I started our Christmas shopping yesterday, I love just casually wandering around looking for that perfect gift, I found a few things that I'm sure will be welcomed by the receiver.

Now on to what I have been creating, I played along with the Black with 2 Challenge.  The colours were singing summer and I remembered this pic I snapped in Instagram of my husband walking on the beach.  Sigh!!!  can't believe its been almost a year since we had that 3 day break, fortunately we are going away at the end of next week for a much needed 5 day break, bliss!!!  Who doesn't love staying in a resort.

MY TAKE

I used gesso on the background and then used my gelato's along with stamps to create a fun background. Unfortunately the photo mat is photographing white rather than the soft butter colour as is my lighter blue colour.

SUYS Challenge

Hi everyone

Its a gorgeous day here in Sunny Queensland, although I am not complaining we are in desperate need for some water.....so please....send us some!!!

This week challenge over at Show Us Your Stuff is "Choose Your Own Scrap Adventure" If you would like to check it out and play along just click on the link above.

For this challenge I decided to use a canvas,  usually I'm not into these sort of dust collecting items, however I need a present for someone special.   For the person that has everything  I thought they would probably love this for their wall.  Or at least I have given them something else to dust, lol.

I used the beautiful By the Sea Collection from Graphic 45, and a mixture of blooms from Prima.  I have added the word Life and my embellishment is a transparent butterfly.  I used a brick stencil to create the background and added a couple of mini photos as required in the challenge. My hand made item is the little two little clay button like flowers on the left hand side of the flower spray.

The die cut pieces used are from Joy's Crafts, the waves and seahorse, love that they can be embossed after you have cut them out.

Well that's all from me this week and thankfully the weekend is right around the corner.
 Happy Scrapping everyone!!!

Sketchabilites #125

Hi there, hope you're having a great weekend!

Today  I would like to share with you the layout I created for the Sketchabilities sketch challenge,  its been sometime since I've been able to play along with their beautiful sketches.

Here is my take!

I used photos that were taken of my kids whilst they were holidaying in Perth quite a few years ago.  Yes they are not portrait perfect,  however that is what scrapping is all about!!!

I've used a number of different manufacturers here the papers are from Kaiser Craft, the bottom sheet is Con Brio from Chanteuse Collection and the 2nd layer up is Beloved from the Porcelain Rose Collection.  Some of the photo mat layers are packaging from Prima along with a few scraps from their Stationer's Desk & Cigar Box Secrets Collections.

Just a couple of close us, I used several stamps to create the back ground along with masks, gesso and gelatos'.  I have also machine stitched around the edge and randomly border punched.

Other Product used:

Prima blooms & mask
Memory box - Gwyneth Floral
Blue Fern & WOW Chipboard
Sequins
Stickers - unknown
Washi Tape
Stamps - Impression Obsession, Autumn Leaves

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Prima BAP & Show Us Your Stuff Challenges

Welcome crafty friends!!!

I've had a busy couple of days sorting through my paper stash trying to put it into some kind of order,  ha ha ha  Order!!!  Not sure that is even possible, seems every time I have it in what I deem as a good working order, I still find myself spending way to much time looking for stuff, rather than creating.  Anyway whilst doing this I found a really old Prima paintables 12" sheet and decided it would be perfect for a Prima a challenge,  de-constructed it and used it as the main part of my layout.

I wasn't inspired to go with Halloween since its not something we celebrate here in Australia, however I did love the colours that were selected.  I also decided to combine it with a Sketch Challenge over at "Show Us Your Stuff".

Here is my take on both of these.

For the colour work I used the Prima Blooms Tangerine and Colbalt and applied with a fine tip paint brush.

Textured paste along with Prima's mask was used to create the background work along with some beautiful Prima Blooms.  The hand made flowers were created using Magnolia's Doohickeys Peonies and I have dyed these using Cobalt and gold gelato's along with Shabby Blue embossing enamel.

Products used:

Wow - chipboard frame
Gesso & textured paste
Glossy accents
Prima - Chevron stencil, flower blooms, pearls

Tangerine and Cobalt & Lime Wedge

Prima Paintable
Flair's
Stampendous - shabby blue embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by and thank you to those that always take the time to leave me a comment.  Have a great week!!!!
