Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge

Welcome to Creative Artiste Challenge #33

Happy Friday to all my crafty friends, followers and visitors. Thanks for stopping by during this busy month.

For those that joined us last month, thank you for sharing your wonderful projects with us for Challenge #32. We were thrilled with the wonderful quality of your entries and it made choosing a winner and Top Three very difficult.
Congratulations to those winners.

Our lovely sponsor this month is:

     Scrapmatts and Papertole Australia

Our theme this month is, as always,
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"

I created this month a mixed media canvas.

I have used some cork board paper this side of the canvas, I have also created a pocket using the chicken wire so that I can pop my unopened mail into it.

The big Monogram word Family, has little reminder written into each letter, ie don't forget to buy milk etc

Hope you've enjoyed looking at my project and I look forward to seeing your lovely creations.

Bye for now Fi!

Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge 32

 Welcome crafty friends,

Well we are into a new month, which brings us to a new challenge.

Thank you to everyone who shared their fabulous projects with us for Challenge #31 last month.

We were thrilled with the number of entries and wonderful creations. It made choosing a winner and Top Three very difficult.

The winner's post is below this one. Have a look to see if you were successful.

This months Challenge is sponsored by:

The project I decided to create this month, is an upcycled packaging box.  I hope most crafters look at all packaging as a opportunity to reduce land fill.

I covered the box with some decorative paper, followed by adding fussy cut pieces cut from some old Websters papers.

I've also adhered some Scrapmatts chipboard

Decorating pieces like this also helps use up those little bits and pieces lying around.

Products used:

Prima - Flowers, bling & Bloom spray
Scrapmatts - chipboard
Paper - Manor House & Websters

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Today, Life, You - Scrapmatts

Hi & Welcome

Well we have been battling loads of wet weather here in Sunny QLD, not that Im overly complaining, however its a little hard to get a decent shop of projects when its continues gloom skies.

Today I'm up on the Scrapmatts blog with this months projects, I have created a mixed media page and some more Christmas Cards.

First up.

This page was created using Lemoncraft paper range Every Day Spring, love the vibrant colours in this collection.

I have also used muslin that I sprayed with some Prima Bloom mists along with Prima bling and flowers.  The Scrapmatts Net03 Chipboard used has been treated with the Finnabair mixed media Patina Effects kit. This packs comes with 3 lovely little pots of coloured texture paste and the texture is unlike any other texture paste I've used.

Up next are some more Christmas Cards I have made using the BoBunny Carousel Christmas Collection.  I love how BoBunny gives you so many paper elements to cut out, that you really don't need a lot of embellishments to make something beautiful.  I have however used these cute little stick stars from Scrapmatts.  You can find them over here.

Thanks for stopping bye and I hope you have given you some inspirations this weekend to get you creating.  Until next time!!!!

Creative Artiste Mixed Media - Challenge 31

Hi & Welcome

Well its the start of a new week, last week I came down with a throat virus that had me reliving my childhood days, minus my mummy to look after me. I'm now day 4 into it and honestly it can leave anytime soon.  Anyway with that all been said lets move onto some fun stuff.

Our Challenge went live on Friday and our Design Team have created some gorgeous inspiring projects to get you in the mood for crafting.  We are getting close to Christmas so its a good time to start thinking about getting those handmade gifts started.

For the anything goes challenge I created a layout, I have used a few different mixed media products on the background although trying to to detract from the gorgeous Fabscraps paper.

OUR SPONSOR THIS MONTH IS:

Our theme this month is, as always,

Happy Birthday

I have layered cutouts from another sheet from the Dream Steam Collection along with one of their sticker sets.

Lindy's embossing powder was used on the chipboard,  love the two tone effect you get with this powder.
I have also used sequins and little gold prills.  And what do you do when you don't have the word Birthday, you simply cut up your other chipboard words to get the letters you need.
Tell me, why is there not more than one Birthday word in a packet?????

I have used some gorgeous Colour Blast textured pastes in the background, these are lovely and shimmery when they dry.

Other products used:

Flowers - unknown import
Textured paste - Colour Blast
Mists - Prima
Paper - Fabscraps
Chipboard - Scrapmats
Stickers - Fabscraps
Templates - Scrapmatts

Well thats all from me this week, take care and thanks for stopping bye.

Until next time!!!!

Hello & Welcome

Today I am sharing with you a mixed media page I created for Creative Artist Mixed Media Blog

I created this page for my daughter, show casing her fur baby Sam when he was just a few weeks old.  He is a Labrador Kelpie Cross and has the most gorgeous personality, even now at 2 years old.

What are the rules?  Simply, just create anything you like.  However you must use at least 3 mixed media products.  On this page I have used gesso, mists and embossing powder.

Paper used for this one are from Prima

Thick copper embossing powder was used on the chipboard and I have used frosting powder on the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may have time to leave.

Bye for now!!!

Scrapmatts & Show us your Stuff

Good morning and welcome.

Today I would like to share with you two layout that I created for my Scrapmatts Design Team work as well as playing along with Show us your Stuff this month.  Don't often get time to play along at Challenges but I absolutely loved the sketch and couldn't resist.

Here is what I created.

Using a picture of my husband taken last year when we did a little trip up the North coast.  He loves fishing and would love to buy a property here.

I rotated the sketch and used only one photo.  I have used the new Prima St Tropez range and the background has been inked and stamped using Tim Holtz distress ink along with Prima wax.  My handmade item is the dyed muslin.

Here a few close ups.

My next page was created using ScrapBerry's Primavera Collection.
The picture taken of my daughter was taken when we went along and did a cup cake icing class, turning cup cakes into a bouquet of flowers.  I have cut the cupcake pictures and added them into my floral spray on the rh side of my picture.

On this page I have stamped using a 49 & Market stamp as well as Carabelle Studio, these have then been coloured using Prima watercolour pencils and paints.

A few close ups.

The frame has been heat embossed with Stampendous Aged Scarlet, love how the flecks of gold just pop through the colour.

Lots of layering with fussy cutting and flowers.

Products Used:

Prima - St Tropez paper, flowers, watercolour pencils & paints, wax
Scrapmatts - CB6062 Shells,CB4061 Assorted Words & CB6091 Ornate Frames
Stamping - Clarabell The Exotiks & 49 & Market Going in Circles
Embossing Powder - Aged Scarlet & Black
Scrapberry's - Primavera Collection
Ink - Distress Victorian Violet
Other items - swirl die cut, frosting powder, glitter, flair, dyed muslin
Colour Blast - textured paste

Thanks for dropping bye and for any comments you may have time to leave.

Until next time!

Thank you to everyone who shared their fabulous projects with us for Challenge #26 last month.

We were thrilled with the number of entries and fabulous creations. Keep and eye out for the winners.

Challenge 27 It is sponsored by Judy McKay..

This months challenge was to use metal die cuts and stamping,
here is my take on this challenge.

I;ve up cycled packaging from a mobile phone cover. I hate throwing out perfectly good pieces of packaging and I loved how this turned out.

I have filled with Darrel Lee choc coated licorice, the perfect gift if you ask me.

I've used some lovely old scraps from K & Company.
I stamped around the edges using a Prima stamp as well as on the clear acetate window, using white stazon ink.

Ive used a feather and heart die to cut out some of my embellishments along with a gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboard feather.

Thanks for stopping by and your comments are always appreciated.

Until next time!!!!
