The Color Room Palette 46

This week has been such a busy week, I almost thought I wasn't going to get any pages done. Silly me thinking life would get easier when mine kids be came teens, all that happened was the gears shifted me into a full time taxi.....

So its Wednesday afternoon and I've only just completed the color rooms challenge. Hopefully I will get another one done tomorrow, that is. unless kids ring me needing a lift because they have knocked off early. My DD is totally enjoying these half day work day, wouldn't we all.

This is my take on this weeks palette, I have used a lot of cutouts and 3D most of them. I also used a Melissa Frances frame that I broke into pieces to frame the photos. I decided to make the photos black and white as the pool water was clashing with the blues in the palette. Other products used were scraps of paper in my stash, magic mesh, transparency, glimmer mist, chipboard and rubons.

These photos are of my DD, we have a beautiful pool and she refuses to go swimming because she hates her hair getting wet and the feeling of chlorine afterward's, go figure..... Once she did get in she did have some fun...lol

Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy.

Another Websters February Challenge

It has been an extremely hot weekend here in Brisbane, so the only thing I could do was hang out in the air con. This was a great opportunity to get another page scrapped for the Websters February Challenge. I must admit I love, love, love Websters Designs, their range is so versatile.

Anyway here is what I created and thank in you in advance for any comments you may leave.

This photo was taken of my DD on her 15th Birthday, she was opening her presents and doing her usual facial expression when she saw me pull out the camera. Between her and the bad lighting this was the best shot I could get of her. So the challenge for me was to some how make this every day shot into something special. In years to come I want my family to look through these albums and remember that moment, rather than a contrived moment without any real meaning.

Products used - Websters Hollywood Vogue. 2 x Shine a Light and 1 each of the Double Feature and Foo on Film, Dusty Attic - Brick wall & Alpha Stickers & Blooms, American Craft Glitter Stickers. Other products are Fancy Pants rubons, MM rubon letters, Prima. MME Paper flowers, micro beads, TH dimensional pearls and Tattered Angels mists.

Color Combos Galore 179

The Inspiration on this Challenge was loved ones, after all it is February and what is celebrated in February, VALENTINES!!!! I left this one until last simply because my husband and I don't celebrate it. However he did bring me home a heart lollipop...hmmm must of been a freebie that he was given sometime during the day. Oh well its the thought that counts.

The pictures here are my DH taken on my DD 16th, I think the words I found for this were quite fitting. I found them in my stash and they are from Kopp Design called Fabrications so I cut and ripped them so that they frayed a little more.

Other products used are: Theresa Collins 8" transparency, Jenni Bowlin co-ordinations cardstock, Dusty Attic, Tattered Angels Black Magic, Tim Holtz dimensional pearls & stamp, die cut, Prima, Digital Frame from two peas that was printed on a transparency.

Thanks for looking.

InspireMe February Challenge

Was checking my email this morning when I found notification letting me know that my Layout Wishful for the February Trims and Bloomers Challenge was made feature today. I was pretty happy to say the least, since this layout was probably the first I've completed from start to finish in a couple of hours.

Thanks everyone who checked it out and left a comment.

Combining Challenges

This weekend I thought I would save a little time and combine a couple of challenges. Usually I don't like to do this, that's just my own personal preference, but I was happy enough with the outcome.

The picture is of my DD over 16yrs ago, its not the best photo I had to get a copy of this from my DD scrapbook album. For some reason the negatives have gone missing with all our moving around so I now have to scan from photos that I allowed her have. Now when I say have, at no stage did I think I would need them back. So now I have to make do with cropped photos from an 8 year olds photo album....do I need to say more!!!

So this week I combined the Dusty Attic Feb Sketch Challenge along with The Color Rooms Palette 45. Although my photos are not quite vintage yet, I must admit I love doing pages with a vintage flavour.

Products Used: [Papers Used Cosmo Cricket Flueriste Vinyard, MME Adventure Teal/Strip, K & Company Que Sera Sera & Scrapbooking Australia. Stickers K & Company Dollhouse, BG - Wisteria rubons. Flowers hand made with daisy punch. Dusty attic frame & clock]

Techniques used [ Photo mat was stamped around the edge with 7Gypsy script with watermark ink and the clear embossed. I used a kaiser stamp inked with colorbox purple randomly on the mat as well then spritzed the whole mat with TA Bubblegum. I distressed all the paper edges with a Heidi Swapp distreser and then machine stitched around the edges.

Websters February Challenge

Well I surprised myself this week by completing two challenges, on time, that I thought I would do another. Hadn't been on Websters site for ages and noticed they had a February Challenge using Trims and Bloomers. So I went with Bloomers, I had beautiful pack of them but hadn't really been to inspired to use them, that is until now.

For me personally I felt the bloomers where a little to big and in your face so I went with cutting them down the centre and stitched them around a die cut from the Hollywood Vogue range. I also matted the die cut first and distressed it and then I stippled stitched it all down onto the background paper. The picture is one of my DD on her 16th, she is never over keen to have her photo

taken so you take what you can. The banner was from Fancy Pants and I spritzed the color to blend in with the Websters papers. I also printed one of the Websters Digi butterfly's on transparency and mounted it with foam tape. The journalling is behind the photograph. Hope you enjoyed looking at this weeks creations by me.

The Color Room 44

Since I had some spare time I thought I would also give this weeks color palette ago, fairly easy one this week, the challenge was to basically use all the same color of green with slight shade difference and adding white with it. So this was my take on it.

The picture has photographed a lot lighter so the colors are not looking exactly as the palette.

COLOR COMBOS GALORE 178

Well I finally finished my LO in record time, well for me anyway. The new palette goes up Friday around lunch time, that is in QLD time. I had no excuse but to get it done it was so hot and humid of the weekend it forced me to stay inside in the air con.

This weeks colours inspire med to use one of the old photos of my Grandma when she was a little girl, I don't know how old she was as their is nothing written on the back of the original. I am so glad her parents spent the money on getting some lovely studio shots done.

If you would like to see close ups of this layout pop over to Color Combos Galore. These Palettes are such a great way to challenge you to use colors that might not normally use, not to mention its interesting to see other people's interpretation of the colors. For those unsure how it works CCG post the colors that you are required to use in the palette, my interpretation of these Palette Challenges are that when you look at the palette and LO side by side you should see the same tones, for others they simply just add a couple of the colors. So why not come on over and give it ago, the ladies over there are a nice bunch and if you feel like chatting on the chat bar thats always fun as well. Anyway thanks for looking and thank you in advance for any comments you may leave.

Color Combos Galore 177

Super busy week this week so I barley squeezed out this Layout, but I just loved the colors and had to make some time to get it done. This is a photo of my niece taken some time ago and have been wanting to scrap it for ages, its nice to look back at them when they where babies.

I used some white Bazzill cardstock for the base of the layout. I spritzed this using Tattered Angels in Yellow Daisy and the splotches are Black Magic. Tim Holtz dimensional pearls in Stream where used to create the semi circles.

Patterned papers is a Websters Leap and Bounds scrap that I had. I used a free digital banner download, changed the color and printed it onto transparency. The other digital download had its color also changed and then printed onto transparency. Cutout are from Websters papers and the white flowers are handmade.

I stamped a banner onto transparency and popped the date in behind it using making memories magnetic stamps. I was unsure whether the Color Black Tea was black as it was showing to me more of a ink purple, I notice however once you do upload you picture next to the palette you can see whether your choices a similar.

Hope you enjoyed looking, and thanks to those in advance who leave comments.
