OMG!!!! I was accepted over at Color Combos Galore for their Design Team Call.
This was one of the first sites I found last year when I decided to take a look online to see what was around and challenge myself a bit more. I think I typed something like colour into the search bar and this is the site that I came across. Since then I have mostly met the weekly challenge.
Janet Perafan-Babar who is the owner of CCG is lovely and always makes time to be available through the live chat when the reveal is done, one can only imagine how hectic trying to organise that every week must be. Debbi Tehrani and Susan Stringfellow just to name a couple of their amazing design team members are alwayss around and quite happy to have a quick chat as well. They are all so friendly and make you feel right at home, I am so excited to be working along side these talented ladies.
Well this was my submission for the Call.
I decided to go Retro and use photos of my DD. I took inspiration from the picture in a totally different way. I looked at the girl on the background wall and thought about how far we have come as women and my DD is totally proof of this. She has an Electrical Apprenticeship in a very male dominated world. She has just been signed up recently and purchased her first car, which is a far cry to the older style one in the picture and it worked so well with the colour palette...lol
I decided to go with black cardstock for the background to make the colours really pop out. The red flowers were cut from a Pink Paislee paper and the photo is matted on some core-dinations embossed cardstock that I sanded. I stamped the background using a Magnolia stamp loading it up with two colours.
I turned my photo black and white and then used a transparency tool to bring some colour back into the picture for the car and tools on her work belt, I then applied some softening effect to the edges of the photo and then overlayed with a 7Gypsy transparency.
Other embellishments use are from Prima, Dusty Attic, Websters, Melissa Frances and a couple of others that I cannot think of at the moment.
Well thank you for looking and hope you have enjoyed my layout enough to leave me a comment, its always so lovely to read them.
I also wanted to say a big congratulations to all the other newly appointed Design Team members, well done.
Bye for now
