Christmas Overview

As mentioned in my last post December was pretty much a wipe out for me, not only making sure everything is ready for Christmas Celebrations but the winding up of the year for our business ready for the next year. I took a moment today to look through photos and found a few products that I made for presents and a layout that I made a while ago but never got around to posting so here they are.

The layout and Cards I made here were part of a Challenge that I did on a retreat on went on late November.  The requirements were to receive Ugly paper, which was 2 sheets, we also had to use wood, wet medium, hand made flower and some form of fibre.  We could use anything else as long as we had checked all of the list off.

I went with making a card first then remembered I didn't bring anything with wood so went out into the garden and found some bark that I made into a button for the centre of my flower.

From there I got a little carried away, I figured I was given the paper and set the challenge for myself to use every remaining piece of the two sheets.

The 2nd Card I used my nestabilities again, stamped the little banner fussy cut out the paper ribbon and made little pegs from more wood out of the garden.

Card 3 I used negative from the nestability cutout, die cut a Tim Holtz banner from some Prima packaging and for the wood again I went out into the garden and found some paper bark that I ran through my Big Shot with my nestabilities to make my hand made flower.

Last but not least I made a layout, again using the nestabilities dies and Tim Holtz flower die,  as the photo was taken over an Easter break I found some cute little eggs from K & Company to tie in my theme and some little twigs from the garden that I tied together with some ribbon for the challenge requirement, over all I was pretty pleased what I was able to make from 2 sheets of paper.  I love these sort of challenges, and was lucky enough to be rewarded the ribbon for best overall work, something like that!!!

And lastly one of my DD best mates family moved to Sydney, this was such a huge step for her. She has being going solo for a while now trying to raise her kids without any support from the X and her mum and dad thought why not have the complete upstairs of their house that is way to big for them.  Its a massive space and it would benefit all of them in so many ways.  So I wanted to give her something that she could document her feelings but also give her encouragement to know that she was doing the right thing.

WOW, that was like the longest blog post I have ever done, hope I didn't bore you too much if you even made it this far...lol I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year. Thanks for looking and for your lovely comments you have taken the time out to leave through out 2011, blogging is quite time consuming just keeping it up to date so its nice to know that people actually read it and take a moment from their time to let you know they appreciate your efforts if projects inspire why not thank those who inspire you. Bye for now Fi
