What an Amazing End to the Week

Hi Everyone I just wanted to share some very exciting news!!! Just when I didn't think, that last week could end any better with my month starting at Dusty Attic as Guest Designer, Sunday I received an email from Leslie Kammerdiener from C'est Magnifieur. If you don't already know who this is go and check out this amazing kit club that Leslie has founded. I received this lovely email from Leslie asking me if I would like to be on her Kit club as she admired my work and thought I would fit in perfectly with her style of kits. I was already familiar with the C'est Magnifique Kits so how could I refuse they are soooooo my style, how could I not have jumped at this wonderful opportunity that Leslie was offering, so thanks Leslie!!!

My April kits is on its way already and it has some gorgeous products in it that I am patiently waiting for, so that I may get started. I have so many ideas already running through my head. lol Anyway I just wanted to share this exciting bit of news and as I said if you've never stopped over to the C'est Magnifique site, pop on over and check it out, but be quick as these kits sell out and whilst you are there check out the Forum and see what Challenges are up and running and keep an eye on the blog as you never know when they are giving something away. Their is a great line up of designers that Iam sure most people are familiar with Valerie Serfozo, Camilla Ekman, Nadia Cannizzo, Beverly Sams, and the other newest member- Erin Blegen. Mad Hatters Hat - Dusty Attic

I have always been a huge fan of Dusty Attic products.  Why??? Because I love how intricate and delicate they are and they pretty much go with any style you have.  But I also like how versatile they are off a page as well.  I have already created a Mad Hatters hat once before, which I was happy enough to sell.  Although you may never recoup of the cost and time you put into a project like that, I was happy to give to someone who appreciated the work involved and see them get some use out of it.

Which them brought me to the dilemma that again I am without a hat.  A good friend of mine is having a Birthday Celebration and we are going to High Tea, I have been wanting to go to one of these in ages.  We always seem to talk about it but that is as far as it gets. So YAY we are finally going!!!!  The venue looks beautiful and it does mention that you can dress up to make the occasion that little more special.   See this is why I need a hat, lol.... and I didn't need much prompting to make one.  With the other one gone along with that chapter of my life,  I needed to make another especially since I have found this new Site called PMS, its a site solely to scrap about yourself, and if I am wanting to play along I need some photos. 

But until I get those photos I do have pictures of my hat, I am really happy with how it turned out.  My first one was trial an error with trying to figure out dimensional.  I didn't have a pattern to go by so it was more or less cut and see what worked.  This one ironed out the mistakes in the last one. 

Products Used - Dusty Attic - Lrg Peacock feather, mini hour glass and Stop Watch, Prima & Kaiser flowers, Websters & Maya Road Pins, Tulle, velvet. Hot Fix gems, Prima pearls and Jo Sonja Opal Dust. CR84FN Colour Challenge

Its been a little while since I have had the chance to play along over at CR84FN's colour challenge.  I always pop on over to Mona Pendleton's Blog as she always has some amazing projects on her page.  Anyway I couldn't pass up the opportunity to play along with this Palette, using Theresa Collins "Caroline Breeze" range which was perfect.

I have a High Tea Birthday Celebration to attend this week so I used the colours to make a Birthday Card for good friend, now lets just hope she doesn't pop on over to my blog and see this...lol

I have hand cut the large banner with both the pattern paper and Kraft then zigzagged stitched them together. The flowers is hand made using the sizzix Flowers 3-D die, The Dusty Attic chippie has been embossed with white powder then spritzed.

Products Used - Dusty Attic Heart, Bazzil Basics Textured Card stock, Basic Grey Rubons Wisteria, Stamps, nestabilities die cut, Hambly transparency, Liquid Pearls Lemon Yellow, Glitter Ribbon unknown.

Guest Designer - Dusty Attic

Although I did sort of spill the beans a little early,  for those who didn't know I have been asked to be a Guest Designer at Dusty Attic.  I am so honored to have received an email asking me to join in over there with so many other amazing artist. 

I have always been a huge fan of Dusty Attic products I don't think I have done too many pages that I have not been able to slip one of these amazing intricate little pieces on.  Its hard to narrow down some of my faves and over the next couple of weeks you will be seeing me create and hopefully inspire you as well some great projects.  But I thought I would start with this one.   Picture of my DD whilst we were visiting family in Kalgoorlie, the background is of the Super Pit, something you must see if you ever visit.

Farewell Creative Scrappers - Sketch 197

Sketch 197 has been posted over at Creative Sketches, it is also my last one as well.  I enjoyed my time over there and I did enjoy working with Kristine's designs.  Not normally a sketch sort of person, however it did give me the opportunity to experiment with them and try something new.

 The picture is of my friends Niece, its an adorable photo and it worked perfectly with the colours from Simple Stories.  I was lucky enough to spend a week at a friends house but unfortunately I didn't have my normal stash on hand so my last two sketches and I had to work with what a brought along with me.  Which wasn't much...lol   However I did prove to myself that you can create a  beautiful page with limited supplies.

Skyrail

So I can't go on a holiday at the moment so I thought I would work with some holiday photos instead.

I chose to use a photo from a Cruise my Husband and I went on, our first 7 day trip without the kids.

Normally we wouldn't book any of the tours, and of course the first time we did half it had to be cancelled due to the amount of rain that Cairns received it caused a landslide on the railway line so we couldn't take the train up. Instead of sitting back and enjoying the scenery I was holding on for dear life. Seriously I do not enjoy being in such a large vehicle on a narrow winding road, however I did enjoy the morning tea stop at tjapukai the Aboriginal Culture Park not too mention the lovely Skyrail trip back down.

I have cut a little booklet that is hidden behind the photo which I have secured with a decorative pin and ribbons to match the palette I needed a little booklet so that I could recap my Testimony, the Star Attraction being the Tour along with myself, husband and two of our friends as the cast....lol I love this fun twist to the journaling.

I have stamped some stars on the page and also used a star chippie up the top.  A transparent frame from MME.

I used an Embossing folder for the flourish, cutout and inked it. I stamped using the new MME "Dilly Dally" Adventures collection. Tags were cut from my sizzix and I stamped and distressed some Dusty Attic banners. The other banners are little pictures of the day.

The Color Room - Palette 98

Totally loved the colours that Lydell put together over at the Color Room this week and here is my take on them.

Whilst I do love the rain, it can be so annoying when you need to get a shot of your layout, at least I did get one without rain drops on it. lol

The photo was taken of my Daughter and Son Easter Sunday whilst they were egg hunting, and some how another photo of another occasion was taken over it, not sure how this happened but it did. I still wanted to use the photo as its sentimental and I thought it looked kind of cool the way the double exposure of it has the background of O'Rileys in it.

The flowers are handmade using paper from Crate Paper Samantha Collection, not too mention very therapeutic when dealing with Telstra, yes I made these whilst waiting on hold for over an hour. How I manage to annihilate them is amazing. Lil Davis metallic shades "Sweet Pea" was used for the paint splattering and Tim Holtz paint splatter stamp. The swirls are a Dusty Attic frame that I cut to fit into the flow of the circle shape.

Hidden journalling behind photo is a note to my kids about how I hope they get as much enjoyment one day when they have kids on these celebration days. Product use: DCWV Latte Cardstock Navy background and Glitter die cut circle, Dusty Attic Frame, K & Company Addison papers, Micro Beedz, Websters & Scrap Metals Alphas, Transparency word "Me" Autumn Leaves, Magic Dotti, Crackle Glossy Accents, Pink Paislee Journal note.
