Quick Up Date

Well what was supposed to be a week of house sitting and hopefully sunshine included has turned out anything but.  It rained the whole trip and at times we couldn't see the road so it was a matter of slowing to a cautious speed.  On arriving we couldn't see the beach the sea mist was to thick but we could certainly here the waves crashing.  The morning brought us more rain and strong winds however we did venture out to quickly take some photos.

SANDY BEACH - 5 MIN WALK FROM THE HOUSE

As you can see this is what we were confronted with for the first 3 days of our stay, definitely no swiming going to be happening here.

We were able to get out and stock up on food, the locals told us the area we where in does at time become flooded fortunately we were not flooded in but the rain and wind was still to dangerous to allow us to go further than that.

Tuesday we copped another battering and lost power and we still had no power in the morning however the weather cleared up enough to travel into Coffs Harbour so we could buy a few supplies to at least do some scrapping, the one time we opted to leave our scrapping stuff home.  Lucky the friends house that I'm sitting had the basic, I mean this literally ie cutting mat, knife, paper trimmer and a diecut machine with a few metal dies.  Coffs Harbour does not have a scrapping store but we were able to purchase a few supplies from Spotlight.  Not much of range I can tell you, fortunately we had stopped at Kaiser Craft at Robina and purchased some papers and stamps so this helped.

The weather is still up and down at the moment and the beach is still to rough for safe swimming.  We are still stuck here because the Hwy to get home is closed in both directions and we are having trouble trying to find out real information as to when road will allow travellers to get back home.

Well enough of the drama in my life as at the end of the day I'm safe, not everyone has been this fortunate with townships completely flooded and homes lost, my heart goes out to those.

Here is a page I created for the challenge over at Colorful Creations, unfortunately I interpreted the instructions wrong and had to redo the whole  page.  With hardly any scrapping supplies was not easy unfortunately I cannot post the other page at this time but if you wish to check it out pop on over to Colorful Creations and you can check out what everyone has been doing for the event.

Well I must head off I have borrowed someone's internet access so that I could quickly upload this.  Thanks for looking and for any comments that you may leave me.

Bye for now

Australia Day Celebrations

Hi Everyone

I know its been quite awhile since my last post and before I head off for a week to house sit for a friend I just wanted to say a quick hello to those that have dropped me private message wondering where and what I have been up to.

Mostly I have been spending time with my family over the holidays, now that they all work  full-time we don't get to spend time like we used to and I  didn't want to miss the opportunity to spend quality time with them.  I chose not to hole myself up in my craft room, the craft room will always be there but unfortunately not my family.  They older they become the more involved they are in  there own stuff so its great when they still want to spend quality time with us.

But we are all back to work, but I'm taking another short break but this time away from home.  I am really looking forward to being a 5 min walk to the beach and here's hoping that this wet blanket will lift so that I may get a few lovely days whilst away.

To all my Australian friends I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow celebrating Australia Day and I will be back in a week posting all the projects that I have worked on.

Take Care

Merry Christmas to all!!

This will probably be my last post before Christmas and I wanted to say a big thank you to those that stop by regularly and leave me your wonderful comments.  With so many wonderful blogs around it does become quite time consuming to make the time to leave a comment, so THANK YOU to those that do they really are appreciated.

One of the games we had running over at Colorful Creations was to guess which Design Team member made what card, we were all giving the same digi print to use how we wanted if you would like to see what the other DT members did please click here.

I interpreted the image into a cup cake however it may have been a bucket filled with snow whatever it was I had fun making the image into a paper piecing.  I cut the frosting part from cardstock and then spritzed, glittered and inked it all.  The base was cut and then sent through my crinkle machine and I have highlighted it with some black ink.  Baubles were cut using my Quickutz Bauble die and my background stamp is a new Kaiser  single die.

Thanks for looking and for any lovely comments you may leave.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Jingle Bell Blog Hop

Welcome to the Colorful Creations Jingle Bell Blog Hop!  If you have come here from Annes  Blog or have stumbled across this by chance and want to play along then then please go back to COLORFUL CREATION and start from the beginning

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year.  It is the celebration of Christ’s birth.  It is also the most giving time of the year.  Everyone seems to be in such great moods this time of the year!

So in celebration of the Christmas season we are hosting a Design Team Blog Hop.  You are to visit each team member’s blog to see the Christmas inspiration they have for you.  There is only one project you are required to do and that is the CC Blog Hop project which requires you to use the color combo below and create a Christmas layout.  You are to use the colors below and create ANY project fitting the criteria given.  It can be a layout, card, mixed media project or altered item.  The sky is the limit!    If you do a layout, your pictures do not have to be Christmas pictures but your papers must!

Please use at least 3 colors from this combo.  You may use them all.

Once your project is completed, please return to CC upload it to the gallery, tag it JBH2012 and then upload it to this event.

INSPIRATION

I recycled a little tin by decorating with Christmas paper I also thought it was the perfect size for a table gift.

Also as you hop along the way you will find clue words on each of the Design Team member’s blogs.  Once you have gathered all the words they will form a quote related to Christmas.  These words should be BOLDED on each team member's blog!  Tell us that quote is by EMAILING it to me at ourcolorfulcreations@gmail.com for an extra rak of scrap goodies!

Don't forget to right down this word and collect the rest as you go

{AND}

The winner of the hop will be randomly selected and will win the beautiful Prima collection below.
(Embellishments will vary)

As always there are rules for playing!

Here are the rules for playing and winning:

1. You MUST be a member of Colorful Creations
2.  You must become a follower of each CC team member’s blog and leave a comment on each blog.

Please make sure you visit the entire team today as some members are hosting additional blog challenges during the hop and offering their own extra goodies for you so the more you play the more chances you win!

All blog hop entries are due by midnight, CST, December 20th.

Now hop on over to Janets blog to see what she has in store for you.  Below is our lineup list in case you get lost along the way.  Have fun!!

Make a Wish

Hi Everyone, well hump day is nearly and I thought I would do a quick share with you.  I made this card for Paper Temptress using a Hambly Overlay "Pink Antique Doily" this was the other half remaining from a project I did a few months ago.

I stamped the image onto the overlay then stamped another one so that I could 3D it over the top.  Kindy glitz in black was used for the wish trial.

The stamp I used was from the Craft's Meow and the die cut is one of the gorgeous Memory Box dies

Thanks for looking and I hope you 've enjoyed this project.  If you are looking for Hambly products then check out PaperTemptress as she has a great selection at great prices.

Take Care
And thank you for your lovely comments

Colorful Creations - Palette 9

Well the countdown is on with only 24 more sleeps until Christmas YIKES!!!  Okay slow down and take deep breaths I'm sure you all have it under control....LOL!!!  If not well then just wing it as I'm sure it will be way less stressful than trying to make everything perfect for day that seems to appear so fast and disappear just as rapidly.

Well to kick of the start of the Month we have a load of challenges over at Colorful Creations and yes I know we are all strapped for time but the great thing is you've got the entire month to get these challenges completed with the added bonus of being able to win a RAK.  All RAK's are donated by the Design Team members and are randomly selected so you have just as good a chance as anyone.

If you love colour palettes why not check out this months beautiful colours and some of the work has been done for you as I have matched the colours to a paper line.  If you would like to check out my challenge please click here.

Of course to keep in the spirit of Christmas I elected to create not only a Card but a little Gift Bag that can also be recycled.  The Gift Bag idea is something I discovered on Pinterest and thought it would make  a great present.  I have also decorated the back.

Christmas Bag & Card

The handles of the bag were recycled from a set a towels I purchased and I  have used PaperTrey Ink die "Jar & Lid" and "Friendship Jar" stamp set.

On the back of the bag I have used a Pink Paislee stamp around the edges and cut the removable tag using Memory Box "Pocket Gift Tag".   The tag has then been slipped in between the strip of paper and then secured with a piece a ribbon.

CARD

Product Use:  My Minds Eye "All is Bright" papers and stickers, Prima & Dusty Attic Flowers, PaperTrey Ink Die & Stamps, Martha Stewart Punch, Theresa Collins paper icons, Kaiser Craft pre made cards, Maya Roads Glimmer Mist & Hessian Ribbon & Twine, Memory Box dies.

I hope everyone has had a fantastic start to the weekend, It was quite a warm day here in Sunny Queensland   and already I miss spring the next few months are going to be a hot one.

Thank you also for your sweet comments, take care!!!
