Black with Two
Okay so those that follow me know that I love using black for my backgrounds, enough so that my friend Tracee Provis found this blog challenge site "Black with Two"and this Months Challenge was to use Black + Green and NO flowers.... Black I love to use and green is one of my favourite scrapping booking colours to scrap with and the NO flower thingy, who needs those things anyway, lol. I also stumbled over another Challenge whilst over at ArtyScrappy Blog to go to Sandy's Space and her challenge is to do a little boys page whether its one you've done or if you want to create a new one, so I thought I would up load this page to that as well.
Not that I ever need an excuse to scrap but I thought the colours where definitely a good excuse to scrap some more of these portrait shots I still have floating around of my son when he was 3. I mainly used scraps, this is the fun thing about these challenge sites, getting to use your scraps up. I still used two new sheets of paper the background black was made up of BG Scarlets Letter Night and I think the other one was Pink Paislee Halloween die-cut.
I matted the photo in some of the PP Die cut paper and used some prima packaging for my journal tag behind the photo. I did some machine stitching around the edges of the background papers and then distressed them heaps.
I colour code my scraps I just reached in and took some left overs out from Sassafrasslass, Bazzill Basics Swiss Dot, and another green that I used my craft workshops star template on then cut out.
I punched the BB Swiss Dot with a Ek Success punch, and I had a strip of glitter paper from a DCWV stack. Other cutouts are from Basic Grey Oliver and Graphic 45 papers. I used a Journal Sticker from Autumn Leaves. Anything that wasn't quite green received a treatment from either chalk or glimmer mist. What a fun challenge, can't wait to do more.
Thanks for looking and I hope to see some of you checking out the site and playing along.
