Prima

I recently attended a Prima Class, however in saying that I was a little dissappointed as it really wasn't a class at all, however at least it was a page rather than an off the page item. We were given a kit which had 3 sheets from the Sparkly Spring Range - Berry, Pink Apron and Emily, 1 Bling Swirl, 1 piece of fabric blooms and 2 packs of paper flowers, mini roses and two large flowers and a packet of alphabets.

After the first tear that we were asked to do I decided that I would go in my own direction and make it my page rather than the Prima Educators, no reflection on the Educator, if I am not going to be learning some new technique then I rather just do my own page. I generally don't do classes and If I do I want to learn something new or try out new products. I also didn't realise that we needed 3 photos for the page either.

I don't particularly like large flowers so I cut the two that came in the back and tucked some of the pink flower up on the LH side of my page, the blue flower I pulled it apart and used as a ruffle under the torn paper above the photo. The centres from these flowers were used as embellishments. I cut butterflys from the Berry paper and 3D'd these. I punched more butterflys from a Matha Stewart punch.

The bling Swirl was cut into 3 pieces. I did some stitching around the page and spritzed with glimmer mist. Packaging from the bling was used just under the LH side of the photo and I used the packaging from the mini roses as a mat to hold my title.
I used a Prima stamp under the large paper tear and used some kindy glitz to give it some glimmer. Hopefully I haven't left any details out. Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Currently I am working on the latest challenge from How Much is Too Much, if you are looking for something challenging to do why not pop over to the blog and check it out.

  3. This is utterly gorgeous,-as is the photo of you Fi! I can see why you would scrap it. I never get good ones like that ( could it be genetics...lol...?)
So I seldom make a ME page. I know I ought to though...
Sorry you were disappointed with your class, but by going your own way you created something of great beauty an value. I will not start telling you about all the details I love here, because I love them all!
It would have broken my heart though to cut up those yummie Prima flowers. You are a fearless woman my friend...LOL!
    Take care.
P.S. Thanks for all the love on my blog. You made my day!! //B

  6. Every page you produce has that Fi-ness, so although the class was defficient your page certainly isn't. I can see how much your DD looks like you in this picture. I love the softness you have created with the tearing, maybe you should "teach"! Txxx

  7. Sounds a bit disappointing - your class...I honestly think the majority of scrapbooking classes are over-rated. I have taken some classes with some VERY BIG names that have been APPALING honestly - makes you wonder how they'vbe got where they have. I would love to be a teacher & know that I would put in 100% effort, which is more than I can say for MOST of the classes I've been too (the last one was 3 years ago & now I wouldn't attend a class unless it was by someone I REALLY admired - and most of them don't teach! You have done a great job making it your own though - gorgeous!
